#StampingSaturday: Lace Orchids

ITS THE WEEKEND! This week was long, but thankfully quiet at work. I'm so happy its the weekend. Today, Frosso and Amanda are coming to the city, and we are going to have a delicious amazing brunch, then do some polish shopping, and general shopping, damage. It's going to be a fun day.

Today's look for you starts with a base of LVX Orchid. This is from LVX's Spring collection and is their representation of the Pantone color of the year. Here you'll see 2 coats. Also, I should warn you. There are nubbins ahead. Due to that bad break on my thumb I filed all my nails down, so it didn't look so awkward.

Next I stamped over it with Konad White and MoYou Londons Bridal Collection Plate 06. It has all these awesome lace designs, I actually bought it to play with for my wedding in a few months. I need mani ideas for that people!

What do you think? I love the base color. It turned the white stamping polish a light lavender that ended up being very flattering to the base shade.

Zoya Magical Pixie Dusts Summer 2014

*PRSample
Today I have the Zoya Magical Pixie Dusts for Summer for you. These 3 shades are much more vibrant than the Spring Shades. I know most people are poo-poo on the texture of these, but hello...they are textured polishes. I've worn each of these for a few days, and I have no problems with them. Love them. Each of these is 2 thin coats, be sure to wait for a few minutes before applying that second coat.

First up is Arlo! Arlo is a raspberry pinky purple that looks so vibrant in real life. In the sun it glows. This is by far my favorite of the trio.

Next we have Bar! It's a light gold that is beautiful. I know V will love this one.

Finally we have Ginni. Ginni is a peachy pink polish. It's brighter than Lux but honestly you don't need both as they are similar enough.

I love these overall, but I really want Zoya to put some of these out in BRIGHT colors. Which color is your favorite?

Also, if you've made it this far, thanks for not mentioning my terrible break that happened while I was in the middle of swatching these. It's just a thumb, it will grow. *I hope!*

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Nail Mates Review

Today on the blog, I have something a little different for you. Today I will be showing you the NailMates polish removing system. NailMates claim their mission is "to FREE lovers of gel polish and nail treatments from the entrapment of using foils and soaking bowls when removing nail treatments."

Basically you soak one of the pads with nail polish remover, pop it in the NailMate cap, then stick your finger in. It's very easy to prep all ten pads/caps and then insert your fingers. Then you walk around with your hands looking like this.

Which of course makes you look like Mr. Mime from Pokemon. I wasn't huge into that show as a kid, but I know enough to make this reference. Be proud.

After about 10 mins, which is the same length I usually wait, while doing the foil method, I checked my nails. The polish was almost completely gone, except for a few bits, which I was able to easily rub off with one of the pads.

Your pads will look like this when all finished. I rinsed mine out and used them to remove several mani's before I deemed them unusable. Overall, I really liked the product after giving it a thorough trial. Sure you look like a huge dork for 10 mins (ok, maybe it's just me, making Pokemon and ET references) but you also get that glitter polish off with ease.

If you are interested in purchasing your own set of NailMates you can find them here

What do you think? Would you try these?

Peek-A-Boo Neons

How was everyone's Memorial Day? I hope most of you got to enjoy a long holiday weekend with loved ones. Sadly I had to work Monday so I didn't get the extra day, but I did have a great weekend.

Today's post is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this look. My base color for this look is China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely. Thistle Do Nicely is a neon pink that leans coral in some lights. It's gorgeous and didn't give me any problems formula wise which is a bonus! I actually wore this on it's own for a day before adding on to it.

I then took striping tape and laid down different designs on each nail. I haven't used striping tape in a while and really wanted to have some fun. Some designs were more complicated than others, but overall they worked well together. I then painted on one thick coat of OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts on each nail. The gray was the perfect contrast to the neon, creating a fun peek-a-boo look.

I really enjoyed this look. Which design is your favorite? Mine is the middle and ring fingers.

#StampingSaturday: Purple to the Third Power

How is everyone doing today? I had a hell of a week at work, so I'm pretty thankful that it is the weekend and for two days I don't have to go to work. Yes, I do have to work Monday on the holiday, but it's a short day and I get overtime, so its all good.

For today's Stamping Saturday look, I really wanted to use Color Club's Wild at Heart, which I just found recently. Since it's a dark holographic purple, I paired it with Color Club Eternal Beauty in a purple holographic gradient.

I love holographic polishes. Those rainbows make me so happy. Since I was on a purple kick, I busted out China Glaze That's Shore Bright to use as my stamping polish. I then stamped on a pattern from Pueen 65. Here is the final result.

I really love the way this turned out. Don't forget to check out all the other ladies who participate. You can link up your stamped manis below! Join in the fun!

#TheLacquerRing: Cherry Blossoms

The ladies and I are back today with another installment of #TheLacquerRing. Today's theme as chosen by the lovely Nicole of Polish Me, Please! is Cherry Blossoms.

Just a reminder, that the lovely ladies involved are myself, Nicole of Polish Me Plesase!, Cynthia from Of Life and Lacquer, Frosso of Lacquer Me Silly, Siobhan from For the Love of Nail Art, Jessica of Once Upon a Polish, Lesley on Instagram, and Amanda from Mae's Beauty.

For today's mani I started with a base of Polished By KPT's Being in the Pink a gorgeous holographic thermal that goes from pink purple to pink. I then used acrylic paint to create the cherry blossoms.

The photos below are Being in the Pink's cold state.

These next photo is it in the warm state. Love that pink state.

Finally you can see it here in the transition state. Love that natural ombre that it gives in this state.

F.U.N. Lacquer Pay Day!

I showed you all a sneak peek of this polish last Saturday, but it was so fabulous that it deserved its own special post. This is F.U.N Lacquer's Pay Day! It is one of the two polishes in the Luxury Duo set. I wish I had ordered both, after seeing how awesome this one was. :-(

It's important to note that this is not a typical glitter polish. This polish is made of super fine cut flakes that make for this gold stunner of a polish. I've used 3 coats here and it is almost opaque, but in real life you barely see any of the gaps/nail line, it's just beautiful gold polish.

What do you think? Beautiful huh?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#StampingSaturday: Gold and Pink Angles

You guys know I love #StampingSaturday, and after showing you all last weeks fail, this week I have to show you something awesome. I'm in love with this weeks look.

For the base I started off with FUN Lacquer's Pay Day! which is so awesome that it deserves it's own post (coming soon, I promise!) Pay Day! is an awesome gold foil effect polish. It gives this super shiny reflective look that is amazing. I then stamped over it with China Glaze Pool Party a neon pink creme. Since I figured out that the China Glaze creme neons stamp awesome, it's been a game changer. They apply beautifully! I stamped on a crazy look that is made up of angles from the PUEEN Buffet Collection, Pueen 52.

What do you think of this look? I really love it. The gold foil base is so sparkly it just catches the light and that neon pops on top of it!
As always, please check out the other ladies who participate below. Don't forget to link up your stamped manis in the link up. I love seeing what everyone contributes.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

I just want to announce the winner of the Julie G Cruise Time Collection! I meant to do this a few days ago, but the whole no computer thing threw me off.

Essie Too Taboo Neon Collection

YOU GUYS! I got my computer back, finally. It took forever to reload my stuff, but the good news is I am back in business.

Today I have for you the Essie Too Taboo Neon Collection. This is your warning of a picture heavy post. Before I show you the pictures, I want to talk formulas. All of these polishes are a thick jelly like base which applies very sheer and that take alot of layers to get full opacity.

Serial Shopper, which Essie describes as a "florescent fire coral." 4 coats

Vices Versa, which Essie describes as a "juciy neon lime." 4 coats

Sittin' Pretty, which Essie describes as a "vivid intense lavender." 3 coats

Too Taboo, the collection's namesake, Essie describes as a "florescent fuchsia berry." 4 coats

I'm Addicted, which Essie describes as a "neon aquamarine blue." 3 coats

Chills & Thrills, which Essie describes as a "supercharged blue violet." 3 coats

Well what do you think? The formula on these was fairly thin, and I'm guessing they could be used for some awesome jelly sandwiches. While I don't think all the polishes in this collection qualify as "neon" they are certainly eye searingly bright.

Which color is you favorite? I'm a fan of I'm Addicted and Too Taboo.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
