#TheLacquerRing: Spooky
Thursday, October 29, 2015

#TheLacquerRing is back today with our final October prompt. Since it's Halloween in a few days the prompt was Spooky, which seems appropriate. I've done so many Halloween themed manis this month (it's been a serious take over) that I actually struggled with what to do for this look. Don't worry I came up with something. ;-)
I started with a base of LVX Anthracite, a deep gray creme. This beauty was easy to apply and covered in just two coats. Also, some of you may notice that I went back to the oval shape. Let the celebrations begin. They are short right now, because I'm still dealing with that break, but they are back in the much loved shape. It's weird how people were like "square..no, coffin....NO!"
Next I went i with Sinful Colors Snow Me White to create smoke trails following this tutorial. It was surprisingly easy to do.
For the last touch of my Spooky look, I created a decal with a terrifying ghost from MyOnline Shop JR-22 plate. I wanted it to look like he is coming out of the mists to get you.
And there you have it. That's my spooky look. Be sure to see all the other spooky manicures from the other ladies below.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Voodoo that You Do So Well
Wednesday, October 14, 2015

So remember last year how I was losing my mind over directing a bunch of kids in Aladdin? Well we've started up again. I love Wednesday's because I get to go spend time with those kids. Even though they are a little crazy (ok a lot) they are always excited to participate and be acting. This year...we're doing Annie. I might regret that, we'll see how it goes.
Today, I'm bouncing back to the current nail shape. I couldn't wait to wear Beyond the Nail Voodoo* and show it to you all. This is the perfect crelly glitter combo for Halloween. It's a white base filled with small black circle glitters and medium orange hexes.
Because this is a Halloween polish and I can't help myself, I added a devil stamp from MyOnlineShop Jr-22 and drips from Uber Chic Halloween-01 in Mundo de Unas Tulip. Tulip is a perfect match for the orange glitters.
Here's a straight swatch, so you can see Voodoo in all it's glory. I can't love this one enough.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#31DC2015: Inspired by the Supernatural
Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Two more prompts left! Cue the happy dance! I'm almost done ya'll!
Today we had to be inspired by the Supernatural. 5 or 6 months ago I saw this post and was obsessed with the Frankenstein's monster stamp. So I ordered it online even though it was spring and I wouldn't be able to use it for ages. So when this prompt hit, I knew which stamp I wanted to use. I paired it with Literary Lacquers Avada Kedavra because green/gold matte glitter seemed like the perfect choice. Imagine my surprise when I pulled up the inspiration post to credit and she had used the same polish. I guess there was a reason why I wanted to use that glitter. ;-) The base under Frankenstein's Monster is KBShimmer How You Dune? and he's filled in with China Glaze Shore Enuff. The stamping plate itself is from My Online Shop and is JR-22.
Tomorrow we have to follow a tutorial. YouTube here I come!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
