#31DC2016: Inspired by the Supernatural
Thursday, September 29, 2016

I don't know why, but I always seem to struggle with the "inspired by challenges." Supernatural had me stumped so I just pulled out all my Halloween stamping plates. I settled on doing the Wolfman from the My Online Shop Jr-22 plate. He's a reverse stamp done over a base of OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? and created with OPI How Great is Your Dane?, Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, OPI Alpine Snow, and China Glaze Shore Enuff.
For all my other fingers I did a base of OPI How Great is Your Dane? topped with Crows Toes Overtime 'til Springtime. Everything is topped with matte topcoat. Don't mind the Wolfman too much, he slid a bit off center when I applied the decal.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Switching Post: Karel from Boom Shaka Lacquer

Hello everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Karel (known as Relly to friends and family). I’m the Indie polish fanatic over at Boom Shaka Lacquer. I’ve been blogging about Indie nail polish for a couple of years and I still love them just as much if not more than I ever did! Today is the first day of our Switching Post blogger collaboration and I can’t be more excited about it!
This fun glitter topper was part of the Alchemy Lacquers – Fire Bright Collection which was released last summer! Fireworks is a black and mixed-neon glitter topper with matte and satin glitters.
This is a fun abstract tape manicure featuring Crows Toes – Hooker at Heart, which I reviewed here. Hooker at Heart is a texture polish which makes it perfect for this kind of nail art!
Today Amy from The Fancy Side and I decided to do a nail art theme of “Anti-Pastels.” It seems like every Spring we are inundated with a slew of pastel offerings. While I love Pastels I love other colors for Spring as well. Today we did nail art looks featuring NEON colors! I did two different fun and easy nail art looks using neon colors.
First I did an easy-peasy glitter gradient!

To create this look I started with a plain white base and then sponged the tips with the glitter topper. I used a bit of a heavier hand because I really wanted the glitter to be the star of the show! This is such an easy way to do something interesting and anyone regardless of nail art skills can do this!
Next I did a tape manicure, a little more complicated but still super easy to execute! I’m all about nail art looks that look like they were a lot of trouble but in reality are not that difficult!

To create this look I started with a silver chrome base color. I then used striping tape to create the 80s throwback abstract designs. I painted over the silver/tape combination with Hooker at Heart and quickly removed the tape before the top color was allowed to dry (this helps assure you’ll get clean lines!) I didn’t topcoat it because I wanted the texture! You could however topcoat it if you were so inclined or if you aren’t a fan of textured polish.
I hope that you’ve enjoyed our first Switching Post! I’m excited to start this collaboration. Please be sure to visit the other bloggers who have gotten together in this collaboration to check out their posts. You can find and follow me on my blog and social media links:
I look forward to future switches and until then may your days be filled with Glitter and Flakies!
#StampingSaturday: Overtime 'til Springtime

So last week I missed #StampingSaturday. Nicole hounded me endlessly....because how dare I. So this week she'd better lay off cause I'm back baby!
I've really been wanting to wear Crows Toes Overtime 'til Springtime. Overtime 'til Springtime is a clear-based glitter topper filled with copper, silver, and gunmetal metallic and holographic glitters. It's supposed to be just a topper but I found that three coats gave me full coverage.

For the stamping I used MoYou London Suki Collection 04 and Konad Black. I wanted to pick a stamp that would let the glitters shine through. OMG I'm in love with finished result. The black stamp is the perfect frame to the beautiful glitters.
What do you think? I felt like I couldn't get the whole beauty of this polish in normal photos so I did some macros for you. Be sure to check out all the other stamped looks.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
