Digit-al Dozen does Glitter: Pixie Dust SnowFlakes

Hey All! For Day 3 of all things glitter, I chose one of my favorite glitter finishes. PIXIE DUST!! I adore the fine glitter finish on these polishes. They are so amazing. Recently we had a "bomb cyclone" (what the hell is that?) and we watched inches of pretty snow fall on the city. It struck me that those snowflakes really glitter in the snow, so I added in some pretty snowflake accents as well.

I started with a base of Zoya Sunshine, two coats. With these polishes it's important to remember to leave lots of dry time between coats. I then went in with Uber Chic Christmas-02 and MoYou London White Knight to create half moon snowflakes.

I'm going to call it and say that today's look is my least favorite of the challenge. I found this cool pattern on pinterest that I thought would translate well. Either it doesn't translate or my execution sucked. I'm not sure which.
Basics are this: base is Zoya Tris* which I love, it's a deep gunmetal gray with silver shimmer. I did the sheep with Cirque Colors Memento Mori and Carpe Diem.

Rainbow nails threw me for a loop. I tried three different designs before landing on this. One fail got removed immediately, the second made it to finished and photographed but I didn't like it, and finally I managed to get one that I really liked. Funny story, I was struggling with my second design and had Futurama on in the background. One of the deliveries that the characters had to make was past a Rainbow Star (see photo below) and I thought to myself, oh that'd be cool but I've already started. Well guess what...that look didn't work out, so I went with the Rainbow Star look.
I used so many colors for this look, I'll list them down below.
Cirque Colors Doyers (red), Cirque Colors Orange Unnamed Sample, Cirque Colors Counterculture (yellow), OPI Jade is the New Black (green), OPI Blue Chips, OPI Do You Have This Color in Stockholm? (purple), OPI Alpine Snow (white) and Zoya Storm (black base).

Are there any Futurama fans out there? It's one of my favorite background shows, you know, the ones you've seen so much that you can have them on while concentrating on other things but you still know exactly what is happening.

Happy Monday! Or....Boo Monday....if that's how you view it. I'm in Camp #2. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I went to see the Goosebumps movie on Sunday, it was super cute, and it inspired some nail art. Otherwise my house was filled with Sports on the TV. Between my baseball team and the hubs being in the playoffs, plus College and Pro Football (and a husband who is all sports all the time) we never get a break.
I started with a base of Different Dimensions Gnarly 2.0 on my thumb/pinky and Zoya Raven* on all the others. I then used Twinkled T Drip Vinyls and Raven to create the drips. I freehanded the Goosebumps font with Gnarly 2.0 and a tiny paintbrush.
Gnarly 2.0 makes the perfect slime. I adore the way it looks paired with black. Have you gone to see any Halloween movies yet? Goosebumps is about as scary as I get. I just don't like the Horror genre too much.

Did everyone have a wonderful weekend? Are you still enjoying it because of the holiday? Unfortunately for me, I don't get to take advantage of the holiday, but my weekend was pretty good.
So it's no secret that after holographic polishes, creme polishes are my jam. There is something about a good creme in a fun color that makes me happy. Zoya Nana is one of those. This deep fuchsia from the Island Fun collection is simply stunning. I used two coats for full coverage, and it applied perfectly.

Today's prompt for #31DC2015 is Inspired by a Movie. Everyone has those movies that even though you own them, if you are flipping through the channels you'll stop and watch, no matter what point it is at. The Harry Potter movies fall into that category for me. It doesn't matter which movie or what point it's at, I'll stop and watch.
So when I saw these fabulous nails from Steph Stone on Instagram, I knew I wanted to recreate those fun little faces. The gangs all here.
Like yesterday, I used a lot of polishes for these, I'll list them out for you below. If you have a question on a color, just shout. Tomorrow is inspired by a book! I have no idea what I want to do yet.

Remember yesterday when I told you I was going to combine prompts today. Well I did. I combined #TheLacquerRing which was a color prompt, Brown (thank you Cynthia!) and today's #31DC2015 prompt of gradients. I knew the colors I wanted to use but had several disasticures trying to get this together. I'm not kidding. This is the third iteration of the look and strangely the one I like the most.
For this look I used four different Zoya Polishes from light to dark they are Taylor, Spencer, Chanelle, and Emilia. I was going for a brush-stroke gradient so I just brushed each color on a little lower than the next, it was super easy and quite a fun look.
Since I can't leave things alone, I decided to add some stamping on top with another brown polish. The stamping was done with MoYou London Fashionista Plate 04 and Mundo de Unas Chocolate.
I love how the stamping kind of fades as the brown polishes get darker. Tomorrow the #31DC2015 moves to style prompts. It's a new frontier!!

#31DC2015: Orange Nails

Day 2 of the 31 Day Challenge. Perfect record so far. lol! It's hard to mess up two days, we'll see how 31 actually goes. So today is Orange Nails. I knew the obvious answer was to paint orange oranges, but instead I went with peaches, because well...they are still a fruit and orange. The whole time I was doing this I kept singing to myself "I really love your peaches, want to shake your tree" from the Joker by Steve Miller Band. It's stuck in my brain now.
The base for these was Zoya Alma* a fun pale orange filled with beautiful shimmer and iridescent glitters. Everything else was done with acrylic paint. That's it. Simple, easy, but fun. My kind of nail art!
Tomorrow is yellow nails and I know what I want to do, let's see if I can execute it. ;-)

Bellaluna Cosmetics Birthstones: June & July

Happy Wednesday y'all! We're half way through the week. The long weekend is in sight! Anyone have fun Fourth plans? I still have no idea what I'm doing, I feel like July snuck up on me!
Today, I'm bringing you two more delicious Bellaluna Cosmetics polishes. These two are from Samantha's birthstone collection. We're going to start with July, since this baby just released today. This is Sunrise Ruby. It's a deep red jelly polish filled with reddish pink flakes, and I can totally see the ruby inspiration in this. More than anything it reminds me of a shiny red delicious apple. It's so pretty. I used three coats for full coverage and had no application issues.
Up next we have June's polish, Metamorphosis. As a June baby, I really appreciate that Samantha didn't go with a pearly polish and instead went with the other birthstone of Alexandrite. This duochrome stunner flashes between a pretty blue, pink, and light green. I chose to use Metamorphsis as a topper to a similar colored base, in this case Zoya Madeline. It could be built up to opacity though.

I feel like this week has flown by. How did a weekend come and go, then two whole days of the week are gone? Seriously, lets slow things down a bit. Do ya'll ever feel like that? Like you look up and holy shiz, it's Wednesday.
So for today, I'm going to show you Zoya Carter. This is one of my top five textured polishes. I love the bright royal purple color, I love the sparkle, I love the texture. You can't go wrong. I've used two thin coats with plenty of dry time between each.
So are textured polishes still a thing? I haven't seen any new ones lately, but I still love them. Do you?

You may remember that I'm part of a little group called The Polished Bookworms. This is a group for polish lovers to get together read a fun book, discuss, and then do a mani inspired by the book. If this sounds like something you'd like, maybe you should join us. *hint hint*
Anyways, I was inspired by the book in so many ways. There were so many quotes that stuck out. I started with a base of Zoya Storm, which is obviously the best choice for a galaxy base ever!
I then used a bunch of polishes to create a galaxy look. Light blue is Zoya Rocky, dark blue is OPI Eurso Euro, also used were Orly After Party, and Morgan Taylor If the Slipper Fits. I then stamped on stars with Uber Chic 2-03 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White, topping it all off with China Glaze Fairy Dust.
Once my galaxy was done, I decided to pay tribute to the most integral part of the book. "Don't Panic" is the first thing every time you check the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. “I like the cover," he said. "Don't Panic. It's the first helpful or intelligible thing anybody's said to me all day.” - Arthur Dent. The words were done with OPI This Gown Needs a Crown and Konad Black.
On my thumb I give you the answer to the question, the BIG question. “The Answer to the Great Question... Of Life, the Universe and Everything... Is... Forty-two,' said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm.”
