The Fancy Side

Sometimes I just hit a point where I'm so unispired and have no idea what to put on my nails. I can't be the only one who hits that wall sometimes, right? When I get to that point, I love to pull up some of my favorite nail artists and see if they can inspire me. Usually I just end up manijacking them and recreating my favorite look. This is one of those times. Inspired by this look from Autumn (IG @justagirlandhernails) I pulled out polishes and got to work. 

The base is Polish M Burnt Marshmallow (formerly Laquerlicious) and the textured polish is OPI What Wizardry Is This? Obviously my nails aren't as beautiful as Autumn's, but one can dream right. 

Today we're beginning the "inspired by" looks in the #31DC2015 challenge. We're supposed to be inspired by a color today, but I was having trouble choosing. So I asked my husband for help. Watching him gingerly dig through my polish drawers was hilarious. Eventually he landed on a glitter topper, Polish M At the Lake (formerly Lacquerlicious). So I took the polish he chose and rand with it. Since it's a beautiful blue glitter topper I chose a shimmery bright blue polish for the base. Urban Decay Chaos is a stunner. I can't believe it took me this long to use it. 

Have y'all heard all the hype about the BLIZZARD that was supposed to hit NYC? They literally shut the city down and then we ended up getting like under a foot of snow. Alot of the Eastern Seaboard did get hit and I don't envy the amount of snow they had to dig out of. But seriously, NYC was a ghost town for most of the morning until the got the trains back up and running. 

All the talk of snow and blizzards had me craving something warm. I cuddled up with a hot chocolate on the couch and Lacquerlicious (now Polish M) Burnt Marshmallow. This polish is perfect guys. It has the creamy white base aka Marshmallow, brown and black glitters of all sizes aka burnt bits, and burnt orange glitters that bring to mind the embers you roast marshmallows over and viola this polish!! 

HAHAH!! Sorry I couldn't resist the joke. I think there's a little Tobias Funke in all of us. I recently gave a sneak peak of these nails on IG and it's time to answer the question I posed there. This is just a little skittlette look I put together using Philly Loves Lacquer Skoo-kill (blue holo) and Lacquerlicious (now Polish M) Christmas Snowfall. 

The glitter in Christmas Snowfall matches the blue of Skoo-kil perfectly. This was a fun little look that I really enjoyed wearing. I got a ton of compliments on it.

Since it is Halloween time, I thought it would be fun to do slime nails. In my head this was going to be all oozy and drippy and look amazing. In reality it looks ok, kind of meh, but not terribly bad. I discoverd that I'm not great at slime nails. Maybe I just need more practice.

 

For a base I started out with Lacquerlicious Lemon Limeaid. This is a glitter topper that in 3 coats becomes opaque. I love how it looks on its own. Even though this is a summer polish, this is a perfect example of how polishes don't have to stay in their "appropriate season."
