Day 2 of Digital Dozen does Tropical nails. Can you believe I showed up for day 2? I'm on a hot streak people!

For day 2, I found this hilarious photo of pineapples floating in a pool and I couldn't not do it. I actually revisited an old look that I did 5 years ago (holy crap!) for my base. I'm not sure my technique has improved at all, but you can peep the old version here.

I started with a base of China Glaze Highlight of my Summer (which has the worst formula EVER!) and then did a layer of China Glaze Ride the Waves over the top. While RtW was still wet I dabbed it with a piece of saran wrap, to create the look of water. I then did pineapples with MoYouLondon Tropical Collection 09 and used Painted Polish Stamped in Chocolate, Stamped in Starfruit, Woodland Whimsy 2.0, and Stamped in Greenery 2.0. 





And there you have it. Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another one. Maybe the hot streak will continue.

I'm doubling up on prompts today, which was so not easy. #TheLacquerRing is doing lace and the #31DC2016 has to be inspired by a song. I decided to look for songs/music videos that use lace. I finally circled around to Madonna's Like a Virgin for two reasons. One, she wears awesome lace in that video. Two, because hello.....80's awesomeness.

I started with a base of OPI Glints of Glinda. I then stamped on a few different lace patterns with MoYou London White Knight and MoYou London Bridal Collection 07. As an accent and as an ode to the weird lion in the music video, I used China Glaze I'm Not Lion. 

Today is the Galaxy prompt. I decided to start with a base that has the perfect name. This is 77 Nail Lacquer Galactic Kiss, a blackened bronze super holo filled with red glitter, blue and purple shards and silver flakes. I had some problems with one of the flakes, but it smoothed right out. Just a random rouge flake.

Flowers are up for today. I'm going to just throw up the details and keep it short 'n' sweet. My base for todays look is Polished for Days Leaf it to Me, a champagne toned holographic and flakie micro glitter polish in a clear base.

Today's prompt is Animal Print for the challenge and I wanted to do something original. Last year's poison dart frog print was one of my favorites so I knew I need to do something cool this year too. I looked all over for an unusual animal print and finally landed on the photo below of a Map Puffer Fish. I fell in love with the graphic look of the black and white combined with the bright yellow.

I recently got to visit the Museum of Ice Cream and had way to much fun. They have a sprinkle pool you guys!! A SPRINKLE POOL!!!
Anywho... While I was there I took the following picture of a piece of art that was on display. I wish I knew who it was by but I didn't see a tag or anything giving credit. While thinking about todays polka dots prompt, I knew this piece would be great to recreate.


Today's look is all about layers. It took ALOT of layers of different pieces to get the final look. I decided to work dark to light and started off with a black base, Cirque Colors Memento Mori. I then went in with Mundo de Unas Fantasy and MoYou London Pro Collection XL 01 to stamp on purple polka dots. Next I free handed on my white swoops with OPI Alpine Snow. I then layered in the small blue outlines with China Glaze At Vase Value, added in my small black dots with Memento Mori and FINALLY went over the purple dots with China Glaze Are You Jelly? to hit the right shade of purple/violet. This look took me forever to do and I was so sad to take it off.

Guys, I'm not ready for tomorrow to be September. I'm not ready for Summer to leave. I'm NOT ready for it to be fall. Ugh! Because I'm not ready, I'm going to just keep throwing on neons and hoping that people will understand my need for summer to stay longer. I think I pulled out all the neons I could find for this look.

The list includes China Glaze Point Me To The Party (glitter), China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (pink/coral), China Glaze Plurple,  China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard (green), China Glaze Celtic Sun (yellow), China Glaze Sun Worshiper (orange), and China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind. The white is OPI Alpine Snow and I used What's Up Nails X Shields for the patterns.





So what do you think, is it eye-searingly bright enough? Tomorrow marks the first day of September. Is anyone partaking in the 31 Day challenge? I'm going to be attempting it for the second time!

Now for the even better news!! Nicole is running a special from now until Aug. 7. This release happens to coincide with her 1 year anniversary (CONGRATS!), hence the deal. Once my base was dry, using the clear stamper from Girly Bits I went in with dots from Uber Chic 1-03 in two colors. I tried to layer them for a three dimensional effect. The base dot is Mundo de Unas Reddish and the top dot is Mundo de Unas Fiji. I love the color combo of red and teal, so this was a fun way to incorporate them together. As a side note...the clear stamper from Girly Bits is the bomb dot com. It's everything I wanted the original to be!
