Polish by KPT: Harvest Moon

As I've gotten more and more into polish, I've come to love two types of polish. Holographic and Thermal. Put those two things into one polish and I am a HAPPY HAPPY girl.

Today I have Polish by KPT's Harvest Moon. When cold it is a beautiful burnt orange but when its warm it is this amazeballs nude color, all filled with holographic sparkles. Here it is warm.

See what I mean about the pretty nude color? Now lets take a look at the polish cold and transitioning. Please don't mind my wet hands as the transition happens quickly. I had to dunk my fingers in ice water and photograph very quickly.

LOOK AT IT! Thermal polish is seriously like the best invention ever. It makes life so fun.

Do you like the warm or cold color better?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

China Glaze Howl You Doin'

China Glaze makes some of the best seasonal polishes. But they are also great at making polishes that fit with that season and can still be worn outside of that seasons. Today's polish is from the 2013 Monsters Ball, Halloween Collection.

Howl You Doin' is a thick plum base filled with flakies in a bevy of beautiful colors. The flakies are in blue, orange, royal purple, red, and copper. At least thats what it looks like to me. This is 2 coats with Seche Vite to top it off. This polish is great for fall and winter!

What color flakies do you see?

Enjoy & until tomorrow, Amy Lee

Safari X's

I don't think it's a secret that I like to browse Pinterest to gain inspiration for mani's. Sometimes I'm just not feeling super original, so I head over there to the abundance of nail art and designs. Today's manicure was inspired by this pin, however when I reverse search the image, it takes me to a prom dress shop, which is weird. If you know the originator, please let me know so I can credit them properly.

Anywho, I really wanted to use China Glaze I Herd That for my glitter. I LOOOVE that glitter. If you take one thing away from this blog, ever, it should be get I Herd That and I'm Not Lion from the On Safari Collection!! Do it!!

The creme color is China Glaze Purr-fect Plum, also from the On Safari Collection. The X's were done with an Orly Instant Artist striper in white. My lines aren't as crisp as I'd like, but I really enjoy the look of this manicure.

What do you think of this look? Do you have a favorite glitter polish?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Chevrons with Gwen

After swatching all the Gwen OPI's I was obsessed with pairing one of the glossy cremes with one of the pretty satin finishes. This is what I came up with.

I used chevron nail stickers from Sticky Nails, to create the chevron patterns and the half moons. The pairing of these 2 finishes made me so super happy. I love the contrast that Hey Baby (pink creme) and Love, Angel, Music, Baby (satin gold) have when paired together.

What do you think?

Stamping Saturdays: Gold Scallops on Teal

Welcome back to the second edition of Stamping Saturdays! I'm so excited that my friends and I are making this a regular thing. Basically we have too many stamping plates and we sometimes forget about them, so by having a weekly dedicated post we are forcing ourselves to have all the fun!

Today I started off with a base of China Glaze Exotic Encounters. If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for teal in any form. This was the first true teal polish I owned, its from the On Safari fall collection, which is my all time favorite collection ever! Not kidding. I own the whole set.

Now for a quick story! This manicure almost never made it on the blog, because I spilled nail polish all over my dining table while stamping these babies. Basically it started with me dumping my glass of water over in the middle of stamping my right hand. In my panic to clean up the water, I accidentally knocked over my polish and didn't notice till I came back with paper towels for the water. I literally had polish all over both hands, in my hair, and covering a corner of my table. Thankfully I managed to save the table and the manicure. Sadly a little chunk of hair had to get snipped, but it isn't noticeable at all. I hope. So to sum it up, it was a huge disaster.

I stamped these with China Glaze Passion using the MoYou London Suki Collection 07 plate.

What do you think of this combo?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Gwen Stefani for OPI + Giveaway

Growing up No Doubt was one of my favorite bands! I had all the CD's because I was super fly like that. So when OPI announced they were collaborating with Gwen Stefani, I almost peed my pants with excitement. I said ALMOST people. As soon as they were available I ordered them all, because I need them all. So lets take a look. Beware this is a picture heavy post.

Up first we have Push & Shove.

I was really excited about Push & Shove which comes with a mini Lay Down the Base, basecoat. This polish is ridiculously shiny! You aren't going to be checking your makeup on tiny fingernail mirrors, but it is the closest polish to straight up chrome I've ever seen. It does go on brushstreaky but as it dries it seems to disappear.

Now we have I Sing in Color. This color reminds me of black cherry cola. Its that deep vampy red that borders on black in certain lighting. This formula was flawless and covered in 2 easy coats.

I know what you are thinking. "My gawd, another holographic glitter topper. Why do we care?" BUT GUYS!!!! This one is unique, it has square SQUARE glitter in it. In True Stefani Fashion is unlike any other glitter topper I have. You are looking at 1 coat over I Sing in Color. There was no dabbing or glitter placing needed, it has great glitter payoff.

Over & Over A-Gwen, is a beautiful red creme. It's not an original color, per say. But the packaging will call to any who have a polish collector type mentality. This is 3 coats that applied easily.

4 in the Morning is a surprise favorite for me. It's a satin finish black creme, but it isn't like a straight up plain black. It has these tiny flecks of gold in the polish which gives it a really unique look. This is 2 easy coats.

Love, Angel, Music, Baby is my favorite from this collection. It is the gold equivalent of this Gown Needs a Crown from the Miss Universe Trio. Want to talk about AMAZEBALLS? It's this polish. Love love love it. 2 easy coats and this dried to a satin beautiful finish.

Finally we have Hey Baby. A bright pink creme, that is really nothing special, color wise, but it is a gorgeous pink. This is 2 easy coats.

Now for a little fun! I've purchased this little pack of polishes!

And I'm going to send it to one lucky blog reader! Yay!! Enter via the widget below. Good luck!
