I spent all day at work trying to decide what colors to use for my NYE nails (totally an acceptable use of work time right?) and I decided to go with a few untrieds that I thought would look really awesome together. The awesome thing is that these nails look exactly like I envisioned them in my head. I love when that happens.
The base color for these is Morgan Taylor Super Ultra Violet. Super Ultra Violet is a dark almost navy blue that leans purple in the right light. Its dark enough to not be bright blue but light enough to not look black in some lighting. This is my first time trying a Morgan Taylor polish and the formula was awesome! For the gold, I used Floss Gloss Stun. I applied french nail tips to create the half moon, then dabbed on stun with a make up sponge. It was also my first time using a Floss Gloss polish, and wowza, I want them all now. Stun could easily be opaque in one or two coats and it has this awesome holographic gold glitter in it that is, well, stunning.
Since it's 2014... I have a few blog related resolutions. Scary huh?
- I'm going to try to set a regular posting schedule for myself. It may take some trial and error, but hopefully, I'll settle on something that is easy and works well for my schedule.
- I would like to go through my polish stash and thin it down if possible. I have alot of dupes, color wise, so we'll see what I can get rid of. Who knows, maybe I have a blog sale in my future (thats a scary thought).
- I'm going to try and post about every polish I own. No more untrieds. EEK! That's a tall order, but I have so many pretties that I haven't shown you all, I feel like it's necessary.
- More tutorials. I'd love to show you all some of the simpler looks I've done, so maybe I can figure out a way to make that happen.
Happy New Year everyone! Its going to be a great year!
Do you all have any resolutions?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
