#TheLacquerRing: Mandala

I'm back today with the second #TheLacquerRing look for January. Today we're doing Mandala inspired looks. I'm excited to see how everyone interprets this prompt, so let's dive right in.

For my look, it was a multi-step process. First I started with a base of Stardust Polish Deep Space, which is a greyed out navy blue. This was streaky on the first coat, but build up nicely after two more.

Once Deep Space was dry, I randomly sponged on KBShimmer Aquamarine and Blue Topaz. I wasn't going for full coverage, more random splotches.

Finally I went in with Mundo de Unas Holland Blue and a MoYou London Kaleidoscope 06 for the final Mandala pattern. I really enjoy the combo of the blues and how they play together.

There you have it. Mandala inspired nails in shades of blue. Be sure to check out the other ladies looks below.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

B Polished Happy Holodays Collection

I know I'm late with this collection ya'll. The USPS delayed my package almost two weeks, so that I didn't even get it to swatch until after the holidays and then once I did swatch it life got in the way and I was just posting things that I already had completed. BUT NOW...I'm back in the game. I've got so much stuff backed up to show you, but this collection you need to OOGLE asap!

This is the B Polished Happy Holodays Collection. First I love the collection name...Holodays....lol, you know I love me some holo. Second, all of these polishes applied beautifully. I had no formula issues and they are all perfect for year round, not just the holidays. So be sure to check out the details below.

Up first is Bling in the New Year. This polish is jam packed with gold flakes in a gold holographic base. It's a unique look and I absolutely adore it. I used two easy coats for full coverage.

Next up is Boughs of Holo, a perfect kelly green with a metallic/holographic finish. I've never seen a finish like this and love is an understatement. I want this in all the colors. This swatch is two easy coats.

December Baby is a beautiful blurple (blue purple) holographic polish. This color is certainly unique and the formula was stunning. I used three thin coats for this swatch.

This is Winter's Wonderland a white jelly base filled with white glass flecks as well as some added holographic sparkle for an extra oomph. This swatch was 3 thin coats, as it was a bit sheer.

Next up is Red-y for the Holodays a bright red with the same metallic/holographic finish as Boughs of Holo. Seriously...when will we see this in all the colors? This was two easy coats for application.

Finally we have my favorite of the collection, Silver Bells are Blinging. This is a silver holographic base filled with silver flakies and holographic flakes. I used two thin and easy coats for this swatch.

Finally, we have Prism Shield which is B Polished quick dry top coat. I used it for all my swatches and was super impressed. It didn't dull any holo finishes and dried quickly. If I ever need an indie version of my holy grail Seche Vite, this would be were I would go.

My favorites are Silver Bells are Blinging, Bling in the New Year, and December Baby but I love them all. What are yours?

Different Dimension Dorado

Today I have a fun little beauty to show you. I was in a hurry last week and grabbed this polish to throw on and run out the door for an event. It's pretty, delicate, but has the extra pop of the flakes to make it super interesting.

This is Different Dimension Dorado, a light lavender base filled with gold and purple metallic flakes. I used 3 coats for full coverage.

Simple and sweet. I adore the finish of this polish.

#StampingSaturday: Blue Patterns

Today, I have a new look for you. It's not my best work and that's due to a new stamper. I'm sure you all have seen the craze over the new clear stampers. When they first came out I jumped on the band wagon and ordered the original one that came out. Well the rumors are true, it crumbles easily, distorts images, and it just isn't a great option.

For my base on this look I used the base of Colors by Llarowe Chasing a Unicorn and the color correcting base that it comes with. I couldn't get a good shot of the base on it's own, so I'll attempt it again at a later date. The stamping was done with Mundo de Unas Navy Blue and the image is from MoYou London Holy Shapes 04. You'll notice that the image is distorted, the lines aren't crisp, and over all it just isn't a good look.

I'm not going to give up on these clear stampers though. The idea is perfect, just need the right one, so I've got a new one on the way after doing some research. Have you tried the clear stamper? What do you think?

Be sure to check out the other stamped looks below and join in yourself.

Slim French with Essie

So I don't think it's any surprise that I like to play with my nail shape. A while ago, I decided to go square again, because I wanted to do a specific look. Mainly the slim french tip. It's just not something you can pull off on any other nail shape. Think how crazy it'd look on a round nail or ballerina shape.

My base is Essie Cashmere Bathrobe and the french is done with Essie Beyond Cozy. It's so simple to add that little french across the bottom but I feel like it really makes it pop.

Then for funsies....I topped it with a matte topcoat. Love the way it looks matte.

So funny thing, when I was done wearing this look. I immediately went back to round nails. I just can't pick a shape and stay with it. What's your favorite nail shape?

#TheLacquerRing: Gold Glitter

#TheLacquerRing is back with our first prompt for 2016. I look forward to these two prompts each month, because I feel like they really push me in new directions. Our color prompt for January is Gold Glitter. Let's get into it.

I started off with a base of OPI Goldeneye (appropriate name for the prompt), which is a dark golden color with a foil finish.

Next, I went in with Twinkled T Cyclone Vinyls and Floss Gloss Stun to add in the extra gold glitter bling needed for this look.

There you have it. My full on gold glitter look. Be sure to check out the other gold glitter looks below!

F.U.N. Lacquer Moonlight Nocturne

Sometimes a polish is so pretty that you put it on with the intention of it being a base and other things, but then it's like BAM can't cover me up. This is one of those. I had plans for this to be a #StampingSaturday post but F.U.N. Lacquer Moonlight Nocturne couldn't be covered up.

F.U.N. Lacquer Moonlight Nocturne is a deep purple holographic polish that is absolutely breathtaking. My swatch is two easy coats for this perfection.

#StampingSaturday: It Girl Nail Art

My final scheduled post for It Girl Fashion. By the time y'all read this, I'll probably be on dry land again, trying to ditch my sea legs. Keeping my fingers crossed for a decent tan to take back to NYC. ;-)

For my #StampingSaturday look, I started with a base of Colors by Llarowe Blonde Ambition, a light nude polish filled with strong linear holo rainbows. My favorite kind of polish. This was two easy coats for full coverage.

Once my base was dry, I went in with Mundo de Unas Fantasy and two different sized hounds tooth stamps from IG-104.  I love that they are the same shape but different sizes, it helps take this look to the next level in my opinion.

And there you have it. Did you do anything fun for the New Years? I'll have to fill you in on mine after I get back. ;-)

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
