#31DC2016: Violet

I'm going to keep day 6 short and sweet. Today is the violet prompt. I was looking for a violet flowers stamp, but it I didn't have one that worked. I still went with flowers, but it wasn't my original intended look. I started with a base of KBShimmer Lilac Dreams which is an OLD SCHOOL polish. I love it. Depending on the light, shifts slightly from a medium purple to a lovely shade of pink. There is holographic glitter in aqua blue and sliver add sparkle and shine while a scattering of micro black and silver glitter adds depth to the color.
I then used Mundo de Unas Violet and BPL-024 for a flowers that still let the glitter base show through.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#31DC2016: Orange

Back for day 2 of the 31 Day Challenge. Today's prompt was Orange. I really struggled with this one. For some reason, Orange had me stumped.
I started with Cupcake Polish Cocoon, a medium coppery orange polish. Check out the rainbows in this beautiful holo! This was two simple and easy coats. Love this color. Because I wasn't sure what to do next, I started looking at stamping plates to see what caught my eye.
I landed on a stamping plate from Born Pretty Store BPL-023* which had fun candy shapes. I reversed the stamped images with Sinful Color Snow Me White and filled them in with Polished for Days Beach'in, a bright peachy orange filled with shimmer.
This probably won't end up on my favorites list after the challenge is done, but I'm fairly happy with it. I like the combo of the two different oranges together.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#StampingSaturday: Negative Lace

#StampingSaturday is here again. We all know it's my favorite day of the week. Mostly because it's Saturday and that means no work, but I also like seeing what everyone comes up with.
Today I'm trying to improve on last weeks failed attempt at negative space. I started out with Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Born Pretty BP-L020* stamping plate to lay down a base lace pattern over a bare nail. I then topcoated that and let it dry. Once dry I used some tape to section off pieces in the middle and polished the rest of my nail with Illyrian Polish Vampire Squid. I removed the tape quickly and let each nail dry a bit before topcoating the finished product.
And this is the final product. Full discolsure, I feel like I saw something similar on IG, but for the life of me I can't find it. If you know who did this look originally, please let me know so I can credit them. Also, be sure to check out all the other stamped looks below.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Stamping Saturday: Mango and Pink

How is everyone today? Are you excited that Stamping Saturday is back? I know I am. Except that my stamping mani looks like trash today. :-( But my base color is GOOOORGEOUS! So I'm cool with it.
To start off I applied OPI's Where Did Suzi's Man-go? This is the prettiest, uniquest orange polish I've ever seen and I'm absolutely in love with it. It took 3 easy coats to get this pretty finish. Love love love!
Next I stamped on some designs using my MoYo Explorer Plate 01 and Born Pretty's Stamping Polish in Pink* (#5). It stamped very well and worked well as a transfer.
I was just playing around with my stamping plate since it's a full image so there is no real uniformity to my look, but I enjoy the color combo.
It's not my favorite stamping job ever but it's pretty okay. What do you think?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
