#31DC2015: Metallic Nails

I'm late getting today's post for #31DC2015 up, I'm barely making the deadline. I was traveling this weekend and didn't have it in me to prep today's post after a day of airports and airplanes. Today's prompt is Metallic Nails. I started with a base of  Models Own Chrome Rose

I then double stamped with an image from Bundle Monster BM-415 using Mundo de Unas Gold and M Polish To Have and To Holo.

There it is. Tomorrow is Rainbow Nails.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#StampingSaturday: Nautical by Nature

Let's start #StampingSaturday with story time shall we. I grew up on boats. Mainly sailboats. My dad was an Olympic contender and I literally remember spending every Saturday, most Sundays, and alot of weeknights with him at the lake, whether watching from shore (aka swimming) or being on the boat with him. It's something that I grew up with and that I still love to this day. Any chance to be on the water, I'll take.

So really the point of the story is...how the heck did it take me so long to do nautical nails? Well finally, I did. I guess I was waiting for the right polish to inspire me and Delush Polish Nautical by Nature  was the one. I started with two thin coats of this polish. I did have to place some glitters, but it wasn't anything unusual.

Then I went in with Uber Chic 2-03 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White  for the stamping. I did some rope, a little anchor, seahorses, a compass. It was looking good....then I ruined it. Because I'm a big old dummy.  I thought it needed some more pop, so I added some Models Own Rose Chrome. That was the downfall.

What do you think? The only thing I really liked after getting crazy was the thumb (above). Be sure to check out all the other ladies below in the link up!

It Girl Fashion Plates

So I've got some exciting news for you all today! There is a new company on the block and they are making Stamping Plates. Who you ask? Well it's It Girl Nail Art and the new plates are the bomb.com! I'm not lying to you. I was supposed to get my plate last Tuesday, but it got delayed (grrr USPS) and I didn't get it until late Friday night. I worked all weekend to get this post ready for you, because there is a sweet Pre-Order deal you need to know about! First lets look at the plate I was sent, then we'll get to details.

I received IG-103 which is one of three plates for their debut collection. I love the images and it stamps beautifully. Below, I've picked up each image on my Creative Shop stamper head for you to see. These images are wide and long, they'll fit every nail. They transfer beautifully. I cannot wait to get the other two. Yes, I ordered them. ;-) I did notice that this plate is etched deeply and does take two swipes with my card to get the right amount of polish. If you only do one swipe, you get some excess polish picked up along with the stamping image. Also, due to the etching, when cleaning it traps fibers. A quick rub of the finger gets them off.

Here I've done a mani using the quaterfoil and lace stamps. I should have used more of a contrasting stamp (damn you metallic polish and your shiny finish) but you'd better believe, you'll be seeing more of this plate and brand. Polish is Ludurana Aurora Boreal and the stamp was done with Models Own Chrome Rose.

Ok...so details...there is a pre-sale going on with these plates, and yes you'll want them. If you order before August 4th,  you can get a bundle deal of all 3 plates for $35.00. Individually plates retail at $13.50. The bundle package does disappear after the 4th, so make sure you jump on that. As this is a pre-order, plates will be manufactured after, so there is a wait time involved. I can't recommend it enough and I can't wait to get my hands on the other two plates in this set.

#TheLacquerRing: Purple

#TheLacquerRing is back for the month of February. Cynthia, Of Life and Lacquer, has picks this month. For her color choice she went with purple. I can get on board with purple.

For this look, I started with what else, a purple base. This is Models Own Purple Rain. It's ok if you start singing the song, I haven't been able to get it out of my head while wearing this polish. Purple Rain is a deep grape purple that leans deep blue in some lighting. This was two easy coats, no application problems at all.

After my base was all dry then the fun really began. I laid down some striping tape in a simple pattern and then put down two coats of F.U.N. Lacquer Evening Gown. Evening Gown is an intense dark purple filled with linear holographic rainbows.

I'm in love with this look y'all. I want to do more of these color on color striping looks. I'm in love with that holo from F.U.N. Lacquer. Meow!!  Be sure to check out the other purple looks from Amanda, Lesley, Jessica, Nicole, Voni, Frosso, and Cynthia below.
