SugarPill Angel Cakes

At IMATS last weekend, SugarPill officially launched their new nail polish line. I had major grabby hands at their booth and had to rein myself in before I emptied my bank account. I chose to get two polishes from them and today I'm going to show you Angel Cakes.

Angel Cakes is a pinky-peach base that is strangely close to my skin tone. I didn't expect that at all, but it works. It's filled with glitters in mauve, pink, teal, and silver. I love the overall look of this, but I also feel like it isn't something super special and new. We've seen these crelly glitter filled polishes all over the place. This swatch is two thin coats topped with two coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

I wanted to accent Angel Cakes but I didn't want to cover it up, so I chose to polishes that matched some of the glitters, grabbed my striping tape, and went to town. I did simple stripes to add a punch of coordinating color. The teal is Jessica Dynamite Teal and the pink is Zoya Micky.

What do you think? Are you going to get any SugarPill polishes when the become available?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

  1. Very cute! We don't get many crellies over here, because no indies. This is lovely!

    1. I bought another of the collection, it's a little different. But again, you've seen them all before I feel like.

  5. Looks great on you, but yes I agree most of the collection doesn't look much different than what is already out there.

  6. This is very cute! I don't know that I will pick it up though because I feel like I have similar polishes in my collection already.

    1. Agreed. I got it just because it's a new collection form a brand that hasn't done any before, so I was curious.

  8. The striping makes this come alive! If they do some other finishes than glitter crellies I might take a closer look.

    1. I think it was $13. We got them on sale because we were at IMATS. I would not pay that much for this polish normally. It's not too special.

  13. The color is still cute and more accessible to people that don't know about indies.

    1. Very true! Those of us in the know are all "ehhh pretty, but I've seen it before".

  14. Well, I agree that most of the line looks like stuff already out there, but this is still cute (and surprisingly nude, haha). You really made it with the stripes. I may need to do that over some of my crellies! - Bubbie
