At IMATS last weekend, SugarPill officially launched their new nail polish line. I had major grabby hands at their booth and had to rein myself in before I emptied my bank account. I chose to get two polishes from them and today I'm going to show you Angel Cakes.
Angel Cakes is a pinky-peach base that is strangely close to my skin tone. I didn't expect that at all, but it works. It's filled with glitters in mauve, pink, teal, and silver. I love the overall look of this, but I also feel like it isn't something super special and new. We've seen these crelly glitter filled polishes all over the place. This swatch is two thin coats topped with two coats of top coat for a smooth finish.
I wanted to accent Angel Cakes but I didn't want to cover it up, so I chose to polishes that matched some of the glitters, grabbed my striping tape, and went to town. I did simple stripes to add a punch of coordinating color. The teal is Jessica Dynamite Teal and the pink is Zoya Micky.
What do you think? Are you going to get any SugarPill polishes when the become available?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Very cute! We don't get many crellies over here, because no indies. This is lovely!
ReplyDeleteSA needs to get up to speed in the indie game!
DeleteI love Sugarpills eyeshadows but I'm not sure about the polish yet.
ReplyDeleteI bought another of the collection, it's a little different. But again, you've seen them all before I feel like.
DeleteI loved the color!! and the mani is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria!
DeleteLoved this polish so sweet n subtle. Your mani is so modern and trendy.
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! I don't think I've ever been described as "modern & trendy" before. I feel super special. ;-)
DeleteLooks great on you, but yes I agree most of the collection doesn't look much different than what is already out there.
ReplyDeleteI want to see the ones you got. Wear them soon!!
DeleteThis is very cute! I don't know that I will pick it up though because I feel like I have similar polishes in my collection already.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I got it just because it's a new collection form a brand that hasn't done any before, so I was curious.
DeleteSuch a cue polish and I love the nail art you did - perfectly compliments it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlie!
DeleteThe striping makes this come alive! If they do some other finishes than glitter crellies I might take a closer look.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like it! I felt like it needed some extra oomph.
DeleteCute, this polish reminds me of KBShimmer To Peach His Own
ReplyDeleteI should take a look. My money is on KBShimmer when it comes between the two.
DeleteWhat Manna said, it reminds me of To Peach His Own which I own and love!
ReplyDeleteNice! I'll have to check it out.
DeleteThis polish is beautiful! I love this shade. How much are they going to run?
ReplyDeleteI think it was $13. We got them on sale because we were at IMATS. I would not pay that much for this polish normally. It's not too special.
DeleteCute color on you, and I love the accent art!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shawna!
Deleteloved the shade its so beautiful
ReplyDeleteVery cute, I love the base.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThe color is still cute and more accessible to people that don't know about indies.
ReplyDeleteVery true! Those of us in the know are all "ehhh pretty, but I've seen it before".
DeleteWell, I agree that most of the line looks like stuff already out there, but this is still cute (and surprisingly nude, haha). You really made it with the stripes. I may need to do that over some of my crellies! - Bubbie
