#31DC2016: Delicate Print

Getting in today's prompt under the wire. I wasn't feeling super awesome today so it took me forever. I started with a base of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Strumpet. I needed three full coats for full coverage. With two I had a few bald spots, so be sure to go for two. Also, can we talk about how I hate the brush on OCC polishes. They are so long that my whole grip is off. Talk about weird.

I then went in with It Girl Nail Art IG-111 and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep to stamp on this delicate flowery print. I love the combo of the silver with that deep fuchsia.

Tomorrow is geometric and I really like what I came up with. See you then.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#TheLacquerRing: Tardis Blue

So today #TheLacquerRing is doing Tardis Blue nails. Confession: my knowledge of Dr. Who related things are only things that have linked into popular culture. I've always wanted to watch but I'm very intimidated by the 74 seasons that are out there. It seems like such a commitment.

So Tardis Blue....after seeing everyone else's looks I realize my blue should have been more vibrant, but too late now. I chose Picture Polish Forget Me Not because I loved the little holo flakies in the cornflower base.

Then I stamped on some Dr. Who related things from MyOnlineShop JR-31 using Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I only have this plate because 2/3 of it is Harry Potter related. But I do know that these 5 designs are Dr. Who related.

There you have it! I even have a Tardis for the Tardis prompt. HAH! Be sure to check out all the other lovely ladies and their designs below.

A Unicorn Farted in My Polish

A while ago my sweet friend Amanda purchased all the girls a beautiful polish, Dollish Polish A Unicorn Farted in my Polish. We decided to all use them together, but I'm a loser and am a day late. Sorry ladies!

I decided to take this in a literal since because that polish name is amazeballs. In my head it looked so much cooler. I started with a base of Cirque Colors Jane on Jane Street which is stunning. It deserves it's own post and I promise I'll show it to you in all it's glory soon. I then stamped a unicorn on from Nail Craze NC-02 in Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I then swiped on some AUFIMP near the unicorns bum and slowly spread it out over the rest of my fingers.

A Unicorn Farted in My Polish is stunning. I'll leave Dolly's description here for you so you can really understand how great it is:  "Little known fact: Unicorns fart rainbows. It's true! And as he was flying over the Dollish Polish shop, he "deposited" a little gift inside each an every bottle! This glitterbomb consists of every color in the rainbow! Glitters ranging from small to large, in stars, moons, squares, dots, hexagons, rectangles and more! This really is one magical polish!"

#StampingSaturday: Cirque XX & Lonesome George

I know you all are excited about Stamping Saturday, but can you just take a moment to squeal in happiness with me. As you are reading this post, I'm probably getting married, or getting ready to get married or putting my dress on or.....ok, I think you get the point. The point is IMGETTINGMARRIEDTODAY!!!! Yay!!! It's finally here. Ok, on to the look.

For this look, I started off with a base of Cirque Lonesome George. Swatches of this polish were my gateway drug to Cirque and I think you all know how out of control that obsession has gotten. This is an emerald green holographic polish, and wow, is it pretty.

I know what you are thinking...did she cut her nails? Yes, I had to nubbinize. I had a really bad low break. I patched it with the tea bag method, but the length was too much and it couldn't hold it together. The nubs allow me to use the patch and as Frosso pointed out, if a broken nail is the only thing that goes wrong for the wedding, thats a good thing. Prospective people! I've got several pre-break posts prepared for you all, so don't be shocked when my nails veer from long to short and back again.

For the next bit, on 3 of my fingers I topped LG with Cirque's XX. XX is confetti in a bottle. It's got so many different shapes, all in holographic colors that you are guaranteed to love it. On my middle and ring finger I stamped on a design from MoYou London Hipster 08 plate.

I love this design, purely because the boxes are an optical illusion. Stare at them long enough and they'll switch directions.

Don't forget, link up your stamped mani's below. My favorite part of Stamping Saturday is seeing what everyone else came up with!

#StampingSaturday: Neon Yellow

I am hanging onto summer for dear life. I'm not ready for it to get cold and dreary, so I keep using my neon polishes. Even today it's low 70's here. What happened? Why is summer leaving? Was it something I said? Come back summer!!!!

For today's Stamping Saturday look I started off with a base of Morgan Taylor Watt Yel-lookin At? a highlighter yellow neon. I then used images from MoYou London Hipster 08 and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep for the stamped design. I used an un-named Sally Hansen glitter for the accent nail.

Are you ready for the changing seasons? I know I'm not. Don't forget to link up your Stamped Design below, you can also add the link up to your blog! Check everyones designs out too!

Stamping Saturdays: Polished by KPT Vanda

It's Stamping Saturday again, and I think y'all know what that means. Also I hope you don't mind that I'm on a bit of a thermal kick lately. I wore Being in the Pink because I was impatiently waiting on a shipment of new thermal polishes, but I was most excited about the one I'm going to show you now. This is Vanda. Vanda has the most extreme color shift I've ever seen. It goes from a bright baby blue to a vibrant violet. My gawd, is it pretty.

Vanda is named after an orchid, so to pay homage to the original name, I chose to do a subtle stamping with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and a delicate flower pattern from BM-221.

So what do you think of Vanda? It jumped onto my top 10 list as soon as I put it on. I'm in love. Don't forget to check out the other ladies participating in Stamping Saturday, links below.

Stamping Saturday: Silver Flowers

I cannot believe this is our twelfth Stamping Saturday. We've been at this for 3 months so far, and I look forward to every Saturday because of this.

This week I went for a simple all over look, mainly because I was pressed for time. It's simple but I really enjoy the overall effect. I started off with a base of Butter London's Artful Dodger, a dusty teal creme that is opaque in 3 coats.

I then stamped over Artful Dodger with Sally Hansen InstaDri in Silver Sweep, my go to silver stamping polish, with the NC-001 Plate.

It's just a field of silver flowers over teal but I really like the end result. Simple, yet pretty. It almost reminds me of some old school wallpaper that has been updated to fun colors for modern times.

What do you think? Don't forget to check out the other stamped manis, linked below.

Stamping Saturday: Silver Rainbows

Uhhh...so I think I missed the Saturday deadline by like minutes, but I'm still calling this good. I had a crazy busy day and of course I decided to do a super ambitious look for today's post. The good news is that I really love how this came together and I cannot stop staring at my nails. So lets just get down to business.

For the base of my manicure I decided I wanted to do a pastel rainbow. I used all 7 Lime Crime polishes just sponging them randomly on my nails. If you want to know a specific color please ask, but I'm to lazy to list them all out. I love how the Lime Crime polishes are bright pastels, which makes no sense, but that is the best way to describe them.

Because I'm a sucker for holographic sparkles I decided to top that with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Finally I stamped a full coverage design from BM-408 in Sally Hansen Insta Dri Silver Sweep. The full coverage design lets the rainbows and sparkles peek through making a really neat look, that is fun to view from all angles.

I think this may be my favorite Stamping Saturday look yet. What do you think?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Rose Skittles

So after all my fun Halloween nails, I wanted a little bit of a palette cleanser. I knew I wanted to use a certain glitter polish, so I picked my colors based off the glitter.

My base is China Glaze Tart-y for the Party on my Thumb, Middle and Pinky fingers. On my Pointer and Ring fingers I have China Glaze For Audrey.  I then did two coats of Pure Ice Over You on my Middle and Pinky Fingers. Over You consists of a light purple microglitter filled with teal hexes and teal bar glitter. I stamped the roses on with Sally Hansen InstaDri in Silver Sweep using the plates BM323 (big roses) and BM14 (single rose).

I really enjoyed this look, even though it isn't really seasonal. Let's face it, I'll wear what I want, when I want regardless of the season. ;-)

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Hot Pink Zebra Mani

Today I have a throwback, pre-polish obsession polish to show you. I've had this one for a long time and it has been resurrected with polish thinner, once upon a time.

I tell ya, I am on a neon all the things kick. It's like I can't get enough of bright colors this summer.

This is China Glaze Shocking Pink. I wasn't kidding about this being an old bottle. The logo has completely rubbed off over the years. While I like the color, you all know me. I can't just leave things alone. I proceeded to stamp this sucker up.

I used 3 different stamping images for this. I've got 3 different zebra print images on plates, so I decided to mix and match. I forgot to right down the plate numbers, but if you are interested I can look them up for you. The stamping was done with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep.

What is your favorite color & animal print combo?

Enjoy & until tomorrow, Amy Lee

Patriotic Aztec

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! It's the 4th of July and it's my favorite holiday. I'm currently living the good life on the beach up north at family property. I've got my pups, my parents, and the one I love with me. You can't go wrong with that.

Yesterday, I showed you my Fourth Fail. I took that manicure off as soon as I was done with pictures, because I just didn't like it. The colors were off and it was too blase for me. Now this manicure, this one, is where it is at. I wanted to be festive, but not so in your face with it. I decided to do an Aztec type print in the dominate colors of the holiday. I used Pshiit's tutorial, found here

To start I laid down a base coat of China Glaze Splish Splash (blue) and OPI A Oui Bit of Red (red) on my fingers. Then I freehanded triangles of China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around. On my thumb and pointer finger, I added a chevron in China Glaze Ruby Pumps. I then did the box outs in Sally Hansen Silver Sweep, and then outlined the silver in OPI A Oui Bit of Red. I did the exact same on the other hand, but I used HITS Apollo for the blue chevron, and outlined the silver in China Glaze Splish Splash. All that makes sense right? Hope so?

I'm sure some of you out there are like me. On my non-dominant or "show hand" as I like to call it, I can do all these fancy, super intricate designs, but my right hand has no hope of being as awesome. So today, I'm going to also show you the rarely seen right hand.

I started with the same base colors as on my left hand. I then topped it off with a coat of Pure Ice Freedom. This is a glitter topper filled with red sparkles, blue hexes and silver stars. Perfect for the fourth. Also, pardon the awkward hand poses, my right hand is kinda derpy and has no idea what it is doing. :-)

What do you think of this Patriotic Aztec?

Enjoy & until tomorrow, Amy Lee
