HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! It's the 4th of July and it's my favorite holiday. I'm currently living the good life on the beach up north at family property. I've got my pups, my parents, and the one I love with me. You can't go wrong with that.
Yesterday, I showed you my Fourth Fail. I took that manicure off as soon as I was done with pictures, because I just didn't like it. The colors were off and it was too blase for me. Now this manicure, this one, is where it is at. I wanted to be festive, but not so in your face with it. I decided to do an Aztec type print in the dominate colors of the holiday. I used Pshiit's tutorial, found here.
To start I laid down a base coat of China Glaze Splish Splash (blue) and OPI A Oui Bit of Red (red) on my fingers. Then I freehanded triangles of China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around. On my thumb and pointer finger, I added a chevron in China Glaze Ruby Pumps. I then did the box outs in Sally Hansen Silver Sweep, and then outlined the silver in OPI A Oui Bit of Red. I did the exact same on the other hand, but I used HITS Apollo for the blue chevron, and outlined the silver in China Glaze Splish Splash. All that makes sense right? Hope so?
I'm sure some of you out there are like me. On my non-dominant or "show hand" as I like to call it, I can do all these fancy, super intricate designs, but my right hand has no hope of being as awesome. So today, I'm going to also show you the rarely seen right hand.
I started with the same base colors as on my left hand. I then topped it off with a coat of Pure Ice Freedom. This is a glitter topper filled with red sparkles, blue hexes and silver stars. Perfect for the fourth. Also, pardon the awkward hand poses, my right hand is kinda derpy and has no idea what it is doing. :-)
What do you think of this Patriotic Aztec?
Enjoy & until tomorrow, Amy Lee

I really like the Aztec, great way to show off your pride! I really love the pointer and the thumb, so cute! I didn't notice this was up when I commented on the other one - oops!
ReplyDeleteHaha! No worries! I'm glad you like them! I also like the blue combo the best! :-)
DeleteLove the aztec pattern, I too, rarely do the detailed patterns on my right hand lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Haha, I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!
DeleteHaha that's funny that your right hand was so different!! It still was cute tho! I sometimes do a little different (easier) design on my right hand, too. I looooove that Aztec design! Great job!
