The Polished Bookworms: Outlander

Do ya'll know about The Polished Bookworms? Do you like to read fun books and paint your nails? Then this group is for YOU! I've told you about this group before, but it's time for a refresher. Started by Lindsey of Wondrously Polished we vote on genres and books to read, then at the end of the month we have a group discussion and post nails based on the books. I've taken on some of the admin duties lately and it's really immersed me in the fun we have.

We took two months (due to holidays) and read Outlander. At this point, I feel like everyone knows about Outlander because of the series on Starz, but its a great read and I highly recommend it. Outlander is the story of a woman in the 1940's after the war ends who gets pulled through an ancient standing stone circle to 1743 Scotland. It sounds weird, but trust me..so good. Since the main characters are Scottish, I went with a classic plaid look.

I started with a base of Jade Mystic Gold a yellow gold holographic polish. This was two thin coats.

Once that was dry I used Uber Chic 2-02 and Mundo de Unas Dark Grey to add on the plaid. I then free-handed (wish I hadn't) some light blue lines in with OPI Gelato on My Mind.

While I wish I had left it at the gold and grey, the finished product isn't terrible. Be sure to check out the other Outlander Inspired looks below. There are some AH-MAY-ZING ones!

Enjoy & Until next time, Amy Lee
