#TheLacquerRing: Red

#TheLacquerRing is back today with our color prompt for February. Since it is the month of love among other things, we landed on the color red. I love a classic red nail, I really feel like you can't go wrong with it. I know I've told you all about how I used to be scared to wear red polish, but I'm happy to say that is no longer the case.

I started today's look off with a base of Picture Polish Frank-n-Furter a classic medium red. I used three thin coats here. You could most likely get away with two thicker coats, but because red is such a pain to clean up (hello bloody looking cuticles), I tend to err on the side of thin coats and slow application.

I couldn't just end at plain red nails so to jazz things up a bit I added on some triangles of Picture Polish Columbia starting at the cuticle. Columbia is the glitter sister of Frank-n-Furter, it is literally the exact same red, but a jelly base filled with glitters. I adore the combo of these two together.

There you have it. My classic red nails. I love that these will take me through Valentine's Day with the hubs this weekend. Be sure to check out the other red looks from the ladies below.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
