#TheLacquerRing: Chevron

I SWEAR one of these days I'm going to be on time getting a post up for #TheLacquerRing. I have no problem getting my nails done, but the time it takes to edit photos/write the post totally screws me when I have so much work to do. Hopefully, I'll get in a groove soon and figure it out. Fingers crossed!
So anyways....we did Chevrons for the latest #TheLacquerRing prompt. I had an epic failure on a thought out fancy design, so defaulted to simple Chevron Stamping over a fun base. Speaking of fun base, how awesome is Baroness X Ectofizz? I adore the green slime background filled with the black glitters, as well as a hint of holographic shine.
Be sure to check out all the other ladies who did Chevrons as well. There are some really great designs!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

I then went in with Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and Uber Chic 2-02 for the chevrons. Simple and perfect and easy to do when your reeling from a nail fail.

The Polished Bookworms: Outlander

Do ya'll know about The Polished Bookworms? Do you like to read fun books and paint your nails? Then this group is for YOU! I've told you about this group before, but it's time for a refresher. Started by Lindsey of Wondrously Polished we vote on genres and books to read, then at the end of the month we have a group discussion and post nails based on the books. I've taken on some of the admin duties lately and it's really immersed me in the fun we have.
We took two months (due to holidays) and read Outlander. At this point, I feel like everyone knows about Outlander because of the series on Starz, but its a great read and I highly recommend it. Outlander is the story of a woman in the 1940's after the war ends who gets pulled through an ancient standing stone circle to 1743 Scotland. It sounds weird, but trust me..so good. Since the main characters are Scottish, I went with a classic plaid look.
I started with a base of Jade Mystic Gold a yellow gold holographic polish. This was two thin coats.
Once that was dry I used Uber Chic 2-02 and Mundo de Unas Dark Grey to add on the plaid. I then free-handed (wish I hadn't) some light blue lines in with OPI Gelato on My Mind.
While I wish I had left it at the gold and grey, the finished product isn't terrible. Be sure to check out the other Outlander Inspired looks below. There are some AH-MAY-ZING ones!
Enjoy & Until next time, Amy Lee

#StampingSaturday: Subtle Patterns
Saturday, December 19, 2015

I know...I know...it's a miracle that I'm participating this weekend. I blame the holidays. Life has been so crazy busy that I feel like I haven't had time to breathe lately. Let alone find the time to actually write posts. I'm usually up way too late to write the ones I've done so today I'm stealing a few moments to get stuff done!!
Today I started with a base of Polish M Autumn's Palette which is seriously the most amazing polish ever. It's a mix of copper, gold, and fuschia flakies as well as gold glitter and some copper holo glitter. If you don't have this one...I think you should track it down and get ASAP!
I then in with Mundo de Unas Chocolate and Uber Chic 2-02 to add in some patterns. The base polish kind of overwhelmed my stamping polish so this look is alot more subtle that I had originally intended.
Be sure to check out all the other stamped looks below. Don't forget...you can join us at ANY TIME!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
