Pretty & Polished Caramel Apple Pie

So lately I've been playing with my photo backgrounds. I'm bouncing between my usual dark blue, a silver, and this blush pink one. Do you have a favorite? I feel like the pink is really close to my skin tone, so maybe it isn't the best. Anywho.....let me know what you think.

So this is Pretty & Polished Caramel Apple Pie. CAP is a thermal that goes from a light creamy beige when warm to a soft rose color when cold. It is filled with the prettiest golden shimmer as well. This applied easily in just two coats.

Now...this polish did not transition that easily between shades for me. Usually when I wear thermals I get a natural gradient on the tip, but for the life of me I couldn't get this one to change. When it finally did change, I had to subject my hand to EXTREME temperatures. I have a feeling if I wear this one again, it'll just be because I like the warm color.

I usually love thermals but this one is hard to love because it was so hard to change. I do love the transition there, but I wish I could get it to last without risking frostbite.

This polish sparked the "CAR-mel" or "cara-mel" conversation in my household. What do you say?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

  1. It's a very pretty thermal. But I'm sad you had to almost risk frostbite lol. Ugh. I say caramel!

    1. It is pretty, but not worth it to get the color change.

  2. Ugh I hate to hear this! It's been sitting in my untrieds, I got it because I thought the two colors together made a beautiful combo. I'll have to try mine soon. 😕

    1. Oh and it's cara-mel for me; but most people in my area drop syllables on a regular basis. lol ;)

    2. I totally think its a regional thing. I know there is a difference in the actual definitions but it's bizarre that they say one or another in different areas.

  3. Not really someting I'd wear, I'm not a fan of this kind of colours. And too bad the thermal was bad =/ I say cara-mel, but English isn't my native language, so I don't really count ;)

    1. I think it's pretty neutral, but I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

  4. I'm not a fan of thermals, but this is absolutely lovely in its warm state.

As for the spelling there is a difference! Car-mel is just melted sugar. Car-amel is melted sugar AND butter. :) I love to bake so that was a little fact I picked up. Now, I'm off to bake a cake.

    1. I knew there was a difference in baking terms (though I now know why, thanks) but regionally people seem to prefer one or the other for conversations which I think is weird.

  5. Pretty thermal. I use the same plant in the garden for my photos. The sun is always on it, that's when it comes out in the UK lol x

    1. Lol! I love that you have a garden/plant. That's not really an option in NYC. What do you do in the winter time? Don't your hands freeze?

  6. What a fun thermal! Neutral for business, but bright for fun!!

  7. This is a very pretty polish. It's too bad that the shift was so hard to get. I say caramel. :0)

    1. Yeah, it was the first shift I really had to work for. For a while, I wasn't sure I'd get one.

    1. Thanks! It's great to hear that about the backgrounds. I'm trying to keep things fresh, but I second guess myself sometimes.

  11. I like the way it looks warm, so it's not too much of a loss I think. I always switch between both. I cant make up my mind which wayto say it lol

  12. This is just such a lovely shade! I like it in both forms. I definitely say CAR-mel.

  16. I should probably play with backgrounds more. Can't say I'm loving this color but you did some nice swatches.

    1. Thanks Amanda. That's the thing about polish, not everyone likes the same colors and that's ok!

  17. I say cara-mel because there is a town near me called CAR-mel. So they have different meanings for me! I love this polish for a soft neutral, but it's a bummer the shift is fussy. I'd still wear it just for the bottle color, though. :)

    1. That makes sense. The shift was sucky, but it is still pretty.
