The Fancy Side

Today I have for you 3 of the 6 polishes from L'Oreal's Versailles Romance Collection. This was a spring collection for L'Oreal and I was lucky to find all 6 on sale at Target recently. I'd coveted this collection but didn't go for it until they were on sale. Hopefully if you like this collection you can still find them. 

Up first is Creme Puffs. This a pale yellow filled with a golden shimmer. The shimmer is not very visible in my photos, which is sad, but trust me it's there. You are looking at 3 thin coats here. This polish applies easily and was great to wear. 

Next up we have Lacey Lilac. This is a beautiful mid-toned pale purple creme polish. Here I'm wearing 2 thin coats. 

Finally we have Royally Yours. This is a pale light blue creme. Here I'm wearing 3 thin coats. 

Overall, I really like the colors from this collection. It really filled a gap in my polish collection as I really tend to spring for bright bold colors and didn't have many of the pastel spring colors. My favorite part of L'Oreal polishes though is their brushes. They have the best brushes, perfectly tapered to create a perfect streak of polish on the nail.

Guess what, today's my birthday! Whoop whoop! I'm officially in my late 20's (28) and I'm pretty sure that makes me old. I had a lovely weekend filled with friends and loved ones. I  really hope yours was the same. Anyways on to the nails. :-) 

I've mentioned before, how sometimes I can color myself out. Sometimes I just need something on my fingers that is classy, timeless, and refreshing. That's how I feel about this next look. 

For this look, I started off with two coats of my all time favorite white Sally Hansen's Ivory Skull. But I couldn't just stick with plain white nails, oh no. I have to spice it up just a little bit. For my accent fingers, I've applied one coat (awesome glitter payoff) of Salon Perfect's Silver Stunner. This glitter topper is filled with tiny silver holographic glitters and medium sized silver holographic hex glitters.  You get a flash of the rainbow in the light. Silver Stunner actually reminds me alot of OPI's Which Witch is Which? minus the bar glitter. If you aren't a fan of "hairy glitter" but want that polish, this is a great option for you. 

Do you ever need a reset from colors on your fingers? Is it just me?

I've mentioned before that sometimes I want pretty nails, but I don't have the time or patience to wait for polish to dry. That's why polish strips come in handy. They aren't for everyday use, but man, sometimes you just need them. I first showed you these on Facebook , so be sure to like my page for inside scoops. 

I got these Kiss Nail Dress strips in my May Nail Art Society delivery. There are 28 strips in each pack, so more than enough for 2 manicures plus some accent nails as well. 

The strips consist of neon green, neon yellow, neon pink, and neon orange backgrounds, filled with the other three colors in dots of all shapes and sizes. Application is easy and quick. I didn't experience any wrinkles with these when applying them and when I was done, I soaked my hand in warm water, then peeled them off with tweezers. I wore these close to 4 days and didn't experience any problems.

The other day on Facebook (have you liked my page yet?) I showed you that I have no self control. When I stumbled on a Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat display at Walmart and this one had all the colors including the two I didn't have, well you know what happened. Of course they came home with me. 

So today, I'm going to show you Tight Knit and All Yarned Up. As in the first post, which you can view here  I've shown the polish over polish undies on my thumb, ring, and pinky fingers. On my pointer and middle fingers you'll see three coats of the polish built up. 

All Yarned Up is made up of periwinkle, yellow, and peach matte bar glitters. I've layered it over Essie Nice is Nice. 

HOLY CRAP PEOPLE!! It's the last day of the Untried Polish Challenge. I've successfully made it through my first polish challenge. WHOOP WHOOP! I've loved participating in this challenge and getting to know all the lovely ladies who have been a part of it as well. A big THANK YOU goes out to Jonochi of Just Add Polish for organizing this and bringing us all together. 

Today's theme is "Was a Gift." This polish was given to me by my lovely friend Valerie and her son Sam. It was for St. Paddy's day so I would be unpinchable. This color is beautiful and perfect for the fall. Its a deep forest green filled with lovely emerald green sparkles. It is yummy. So thanks to Val & Sam for this wonderful polish.

Hey Lovies! Today is supposed to be filled with storms and I'm spending my day dealing with my phone company. Sounds fun huh? It totally is. ;-) 

Today, I've got some fun textured gradient nails to show you. I've been intrigued by the idea of doing a gradient with the liquid sand finish every since I got my first one, so I finally decided to give it a try. 

For this look, I've used a base of OPI Honey Ryder (gold) and then sponged on the tips with Julie G's Rock Candy (teal). I really enjoyed this look and the texture of the polishes made doing this gradient super easy.

I give you China Glaze's Hanging the Balance. This is a beautiful medium bright blue creme. I love it. However it stained the crap out of my skin during removal and once again gave me smurf fingers. Why do the blue polishes always do this to me? WHY?
