Serum No5 Luxe So Good

There is something about a silver holographic polish that is just so gorgeous. Luxe So Good from Serum No5 allows me to wear a fun polish but also take a break from polish craziness. Sometimes a palette cleanser is needed.
Luxe So Good is not as in your face "HOLO" as some others that I have. It has the rainbows they just aren't as strong. This swatch is 3 thin coats. I did have some issues with dragging so make sure to let each layer dry for a bit before moving on.
So story time...I told you all about my blog New Years resolution, but my personal one is to run a 1/2 Marathon. I got talked into it by a friend, I have a date and a training program. But the thing is...I hate running. Its the worst. But I'm a sucker and agreed to do this so I'll be regaling you with all my aches and pains up until that date. Then we'll all go out for drinks after and I'll vow never to do something so stupid again.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Seche Irresistible & Live.Love.Polish

Live.Love.Polish an online retailer of polish recently asked me if I wanted to try out a Seche polish and the ever famous Seche Vite topcoat. I think you all know my answer was "Hells yeah" "I'd love to work with you and try it out." Lucky for me they are based out of NYC and I had the polish within 2 days. Talk about service y'all!
I chose to try out Seche Irresistible. It's a deep dark purple leaning red creme polish, almost a maroon but not quite. This is 2 thin coats, but if you do thicker ones you could get away with one. Irresistible dries quickly and super shiny!
They also sent me a bottle of Seche Vite. Its no secret that I love Seche Vite and its my go to topcoat. I've strayed. I've tried other quick dry top coats. I always come back. There is nothing like the super shiny, glossy smooth, dry to the touch finish you get with this topcoat. Some people do experience shrinkage with this top coat, but if you wrap your tips and use a generous amount it eliminates that problem.
What do you think? I'm in love. I fully believe you can't go wrong with the Seche brand. They make the best topcoat out there and they always produce gorgeous creme polishes.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Smitten Polish Figgy Pudding

A crazy amount of Christmas Collections came out this year. I'm guilty of getting a lot of them. However, there were very few that aren't versatile. I feel like so many of them could be worn year round and that makes them awesome in my book. Smitten Polish Figgy Pudding is one of those.
Figgy Pudding is a bright purple base filled with bronze flakies that give it a lot of depth. Its a stunning combo. My swatch is 2 easy coats. I didn't experience any bulkiness from the flakes or bald spots. I love the shift you get from the flakies, so pretty.
See...I told you it was pretty! For those of you in the NYC area there is a blogger meetup happening this weekend on the 10th. If you want the info, pop over to my IG feed for the picture that has all the details! Hope to see you there!

Sometimes I could just kick myself for being a big dummy. I've had Zoya Storm in my collection forever, but haven't used it until now. That was a bad choice based on how gorgeous it is. Storm is a black jelly base filled with silver holographic sparkles. How can you not love it?
What do you think?

AEngland Crown of Thistles & New Years Resolutions
Wednesday, December 31, 2014
12/31/2014 10:00:00 AM
So two things are going to happen in this post. One: I'm going to show you my favorite polish of the year and Two: I'm going to tell you about my New Years Resolution. Lets start with #2 because I like to mix things up.
So here is my dirty secret. I own a lot of nail polish. Ok so maybe that isn't so dirty or much of a secret. Life of a nail blogger y'all! But heres the thing, I own enough that I could do two manicures a day for the next year and still have some left over. Crazy...I know. But I also know people who own a lot more than I do, so I'm only like schmedium bad. Now for the resolution!
In 2015 I will buy NO nail polish. (I know right?) I just died a little inside typing that. So each month, I'm going to put $30 in a jar and at the end of the year hopefully I'll have $360 to splurge with. Believe me at the end of 12 months the wish list will be very long! There are a few caveats...base and top coat don't count, I will still accept press samples, and gifts will be welcome *hint hint husband!*
The other cool thing is I'm going to try and do more giveaways this year. I have 4 lined up already and I think you'll be super excited about them!
Now on to the reason we're all here. Polish! This is AEngland's Crown of Thistles. When Adina dropped the new Elizabeth & Mary collection, I knew this one needed to be mine. Which then caused me to stalk her stockists online for several months until I managed to snag it. This amethyst holographic purple is absolutely stunning and I love everything about it.
So what do you think of the polish? Or how about my crazy town resolution? What are your resolutions for the new year, are they polish related like mine?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Royal Presents
Tuesday, December 30, 2014
12/30/2014 11:32:00 PM
OK....SO..... I know I told you all I was done with holiday looks, but I just found this in my draft folder. I completely forgot about it. I need to show it to you while I still can...so last minute holiday post. Hope you all don't mind.
So this post is two of my favorite Indie Brands in one. F.U.N. Lacquer and Cirque Colors. Loving both of these polishes! The holo is F.U.N. Lacquer Royal Chapel and the silver is Cirque Mirror Mirror. I cannot get enough of these two polishes.
Then because I'm a crazy person I decided to paint on ribbons as if my nails are presents. I used OPI This gown needs a Crown and black acrylic paint.
Honestly this was one of my least favorite looks of the season, which probably explains why I forgot about it in my drafts. OOPS.
What are you all doing for NYE? Have you done your NYE manis yet? I don't know what I want to do....I'll probably throw something together at the last minute.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Triplets: Flowers and Chevrons
Monday, December 29, 2014
12/29/2014 11:00:00 AM
So Cynthia, Voni, and I got a wild idea to collaborate on a post. We decided to recreate this particular print from Society 6. Part of the fun of doing something like this is to see how we all interpret it differently. I went for a fairly spot of version, except my flowers are a bit abstract vs. literal.
My base is OPI You're So Vain-illa. I then added chevrons using mini chevron nail vinyls and OPI 4 in the Morning. I did the flowers with Sally Hansen's I <3 Nail Art pens in Orange #330, Yellow #320, Magenta #390, and Turquoise #450. I then topped everything off with Revlon's Matte top coat.
The nail art pens are amazingly easy to work with and they have a fine tip that allows you to get great fine detail when using them. I can totally see myself using them in the future. What do you think of my version? Check out Cynthia and Voni's versions below!
