#31DC2016: Glitter
Saturday, September 17, 2016
9/17/2016 08:38:00 PM
Today's glitter look is all about glitter-ception. Is that a thing? I used glitter on glitter!11 My base is Pretty Serious Viscous Vampire has a red jelly base that's filled with multi-sized red and fuschia glitter. It's almost flourescent bright.
I then used Twinkled T Quatrefoil Vinyls and Cupcake Polish As Good As Rose Gold to add on my second layer of glitter. I really love the way the pink glitter works with the red underneath.
Tomorrow is half moons. See you then.

#31DC2016: Blue

Today is day #5 for the 31 Day Challenge and the prompt is blue. I tried a few different looks for blue before ending up on this one. I knew I wanted to start with Cirque Colors Acid Wash, but I wasn't sure where I would end up. I ended up doing 2 easy coats of Acid Wash and then used some vinyls to create my final look.
I used the Twinkled T Drip Vinyls and added drips with Cirque Colors Monte Carlo (light blue) and Cirque Colors Santorini (bright blue). I'm really digging the combo of these three blue polishes together.
Have you had a favorite prompt so far? Check out all the others below to see other blue nails.

#TheLacquerRing: Silver

What's up party people? I'm back with another installment of the #TheLacquerRing. Today we've got some new faces joining us, so be sure to check out the link up below and welcome them! Our color prompt for this month is Silver. I really struggled with what to do. I usually like to add a little art, but I wanted to let the silver shine (pun intended), but then I came up with a cool trick. Let's check it out.
I started with a base of OPI My Signature is DC a bright silver foil filled with shimmer. I used two coats for full coverage and had no issues with application.
I then went in with Twinkled T Cyclone Vinyls and OPI It's Frosty Outside a textured liquid sand finish to create some cool silver on silver 3D effects.
That's it folks. I've really enjoyed wearing this mani for the last few days. Isn't it pretty?
Like I said before, check out the other ladies participating in #TheLacquerRing below.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#TheLacquerRing is back with our first prompt for 2016. I look forward to these two prompts each month, because I feel like they really push me in new directions. Our color prompt for January is Gold Glitter. Let's get into it.
I started off with a base of OPI Goldeneye (appropriate name for the prompt), which is a dark golden color with a foil finish.
Next, I went in with Twinkled T Cyclone Vinyls and Floss Gloss Stun to add in the extra gold glitter bling needed for this look.
There you have it. My full on gold glitter look. Be sure to check out the other gold glitter looks below!

Now let's take a closer look at the Dusty Pink & Olive Green pairing of Modern Muse and El Capitan. I went in with some Twinkled T Heart Vinyls to create this design. This is a super easy look to accomplish, but it is high impact.
I really love the way these colors pair together. What do you think?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Goosebumps

Happy Monday! Or....Boo Monday....if that's how you view it. I'm in Camp #2. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I went to see the Goosebumps movie on Sunday, it was super cute, and it inspired some nail art. Otherwise my house was filled with Sports on the TV. Between my baseball team and the hubs being in the playoffs, plus College and Pro Football (and a husband who is all sports all the time) we never get a break.
I started with a base of Different Dimensions Gnarly 2.0 on my thumb/pinky and Zoya Raven* on all the others. I then used Twinkled T Drip Vinyls and Raven to create the drips. I freehanded the Goosebumps font with Gnarly 2.0 and a tiny paintbrush.
Gnarly 2.0 makes the perfect slime. I adore the way it looks paired with black. Have you gone to see any Halloween movies yet? Goosebumps is about as scary as I get. I just don't like the Horror genre too much.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Moroccan Greenwich

I warned you all that I'd be doubling up on posts some days because I have other cool stuff to show you besides the #31DC2015 this month. Today is one of those days.
I wanted to show you the beauty that is Cirque Colors Greenwich again. These limited edition Warby Parker Pop-in polishes go away in 3 days, so if you've been eyeballing them...now is the time to make your move. Bonus: they are now on sale on the Nordstrom website! Run grab some now!
For this look I paired Cirque Colors Greenwich with Twinkled T Layla Stencils. I wanted to play off the gold flakies in the pale blue polish, so I sponged on some Cirque Colors Helios which was the perfect match. Helios is a retiring polish from Cirque's core collection and can be found in the sale section of their normal website.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Bellaluna Cosmetics: Prosperity
Tuesday, August 25, 2015
8/25/2015 11:42:00 AM
OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS! A whole week disappeared on me. I was so busy finishing up Jury Duty and then playing catch up at work, that it literally flew by. I didn't even get a chance to wave at it as it brushed by me. Things have settled down finally (thank goodness) and I have fun pretty things to show you.
Today, I have another installment of Bellaluna Cosmetics birthstone collection for you. These polishes are monthly releases that reflect the birthstone of that month. Prosperity is based off of August's birthstone the Peridot. The Egyptian's used to call Peridot's the gem of the sun, I just love that. Prosperity is a bright lime green polish filled with beautiful iridescent flecks of shimmer.
For a little fun, I went in with Bellaluna Cosmetics Luck of the Irish and Twinkled T Triangle Swirl Vinyls for this fun look. On my middle finger I started with Luck of the Irish as a base and sponged Prosperity on top. I flip flopped it on my ring finger. These two polishes are from completely different collections, but it's like they were made for each other. I adore these greens together.
I cannot wait to see what Samantha comes up with for September as I have a particular love for sapphires. My engagement ring is a yellow sapphire and my mom's, aunt's, and grandmother's rings are all sapphires as well.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#MatchingMani with Shelby Lou Nails feat. Son of a Beachin' Unicorn
Friday, August 7, 2015
8/07/2015 10:18:00 AM
I am so all over these #MatchingManis lately. Recently Shelby and I were talking about her new found love for the Lacquer Lust Unicorn Series and we decided to do a little matching mani to celebrate. We chose Son of a Beachin' Unicorn and black accents. Below you can see swatches of this beautiful unicorn. I used three coats for full opacity. As with all the polishes in this series, the base is a holographic silver micro glitter. This particular polish has neon hex glitter in lime green, neon blue, and pink.
I then took Twinkled T Tribal Nail Vinyls and applied them over my base. I used the full stencil on my middle and ring finger and the negative images on the others. The black polish is Cirque Colors Memento Mori which is my perfect black polish.
I'm really loving how all this came together. It was such a fun look to wear. Be sure to check out Shelby's look here!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
