#TheLacquerRing: Turquoise Shimmer

Alright y'all! After celebrating my birthday yesterday, I'm ready to get back to the normal stuff, which is showing you nail polish! I can hear you breathing a sigh of relief. So...lets make this happen. Whoo! *On a side note, I had a bad break last week and had to chop off the nails, so be prepared for different nail lengths as I grow them back out but still post from saved mani's as well.

So the second Thursday of June is here and that means #TheLacquerRing is back! This week for our color prompt we are doing Turquoise Shimmer. This one was hard for me. I had to really think to about Turquoise with Shimmer. I have a lot of teals with shimmer, but they just aren't the same. Finally I settled on Elevation Polish Theo Wirth Parkway. This is a vibrant turquoise filled with multi-colored shimmer. This polish was really thick for me, but I didn't have any application issues.

I then decided to accent it with some silver dots, but it was kind of a fail, so I'll just show you the one picture. Dots were made with OPI This Gown Needs a Crown.

We do have some new faces who will be joining us in #TheLacquerRing going forward, everyone be sure to say HI! to Shelby and Rei. While you are saying HI! check out all the other Turquoise Shimmer looks from AmandaLesleyJessicaNicoleVoniFrosso, and Cynthia below!

#ThePolishedBookworms: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

You may remember that I'm part of a little group called The Polished Bookworms. This is a group for polish lovers to get together read a fun book, discuss, and then do a mani inspired by the book. If this sounds like something you'd like, maybe you should join us. *hint hint*

Anyways, I was inspired by the book in so many ways. There were so many quotes that stuck out. I started with a base of Zoya Storm, which is obviously the best choice for a galaxy base ever!

I then used a bunch of polishes to create a galaxy look. Light blue is Zoya Rocky, dark blue is OPI Eurso Euro, also used were Orly After Party, and Morgan Taylor If the Slipper Fits. I then stamped on stars with Uber Chic 2-03 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White, topping it all off with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Once my galaxy was done, I decided to pay tribute to the most integral part of the book. "Don't Panic" is the first thing every time you check the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. “I like the cover," he said. "Don't Panic. It's the first helpful or intelligible thing anybody's said to me all day.” - Arthur Dent.  The words were done with OPI This Gown Needs a Crown and Konad Black.

On my thumb I give you the answer to the question, the BIG question. “The Answer to the Great Question... Of Life, the Universe and Everything... Is... Forty-two,' said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm.”

If you stuck it out this long, perhaps you'd like to take a peek at other ladies who did a Hitchhiker's Guide looks as well.

Royal Presents

OK....SO..... I know I told you all I was done with holiday looks, but I just found this in my draft folder. I completely forgot about it. I need to show it to you while I still can...so last minute holiday post. Hope you all don't mind.

So this post is two of my favorite Indie Brands in one. F.U.N. Lacquer and Cirque Colors. Loving both of these polishes! The holo is F.U.N. Lacquer Royal Chapel and the silver is Cirque Mirror Mirror. I cannot get enough of these two polishes.

Then because I'm a crazy person I decided to paint on ribbons as if my nails are presents. I used OPI This gown needs a Crown and black acrylic paint.

Honestly this was one of my least favorite looks of the season, which probably explains why I forgot about it in my drafts. OOPS.

What are you all doing for NYE? Have you done your NYE manis yet? I don't know what I want to do....I'll probably throw something together at the last minute.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Glam Spiderwebs

Recently I got my greedy polish loving hands on the OPI Miss Universe Trio. I was in love with the Silver polish that dries with a satin finish. GORG!! Plus the other two shades are unique in my collection. I don't have anything else like them.

So once they arrived, I knew I wanted to do a fun Halloween look with the three of them. First I applied a base of OPI I'm Feeling Sashy, a beautiful dusty light purple.

Next using I'm Feeling Sashy and Miss You-ninverse, a dark eggplant purple, to create a gradient over all my nails. I love a pretty gradient, but why do they have to be so freaking hard to clean-up?

Finally, on my thumb and ring finger, I freehanded some spiderwebs with This Gown Needs a Crown, a beautiful silver metallic that dries to a Satin Finish. I hope they make a gold with this finish. :-)

I have two more Halloween designs that I need to get on the blog before the holiday! Wish me luck.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
