The Fancy Side

Hey all TLR is back for October. Normally for our second prompt every month, we pick a theme. This month we are being inspired by our sweet friend Frosso from Lacquer Me Silly, so that is our theme. She recently announced her retirement from blogging, as life has gotten to busy and other things are taking priority. As a founding member of #TLR and #StampingSaturday she will be missed. However I think she might pop in from time to time on Instagram, because I just don't think she can go cold turkey. I've chosen to be inspired by one of Fross' Halloween manis. She's always had great Halloween mani's and one of my favorites is FrakenGlam.

For my base I started with China Glaze Running in Circles. I love this green. It's filled with tiny glitter that makes for a super shiny green.





Lets look at the side by side comparison of the original and my version, what do you think? Did I do Fross' original look justice?

I've put Sulley's fur on all fingers except my ring finger. Now since I don't really have furry polish, I decided to do his fur with some OPI Liquid Sands, because it seemed fitting. I started out with a base of OPI Tiffany Case and dotted in spots of OPI Can't Let Go.  To create Mike's eye I started off with a base of China Glaze's Gaga for Green. Once that dried, I free handed some circles (its ridiculously hard to do that, by the way) in Sally Hansen's Ivory Skull (white), China Glaze Hanging in the Balance (blue), and dotted the pupil in with a black striper.

I love this look. Although I wish Mike's eye was a little better looking. Here's a picture of Mike and Sulley from their new movie, Monsters University. How did I do?

Hold on to your knickers kids, because today, I have the most picture heavy post ever. Today, I'm going to show you swatches of six of the new Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat polishes. Apparently there are 2 others floating around out there in polish world, but the displays I've seen didn't have spots for them.

The six I have for you today are Peach Fuzz, Fuzz Sea, Tweedy, Wool Knot, Wool Lite, and Fuzzy Fantasy. Just a note, on my thumb, ring, and pinkie fingers I've applied one coat over polish undies, and on my pointer/middle finger you'll see three coats on their own. Ready? Lets do this.






Tweedy is made up of black and white matte bar glitters. I've layered it over China Glaze For Audrey.








Fuzzy Fantasy is made up of lime green and white matte bar glitter. I've layered it over Essie Butler Please.

Application wise these go on fairly easy, you don't have to fish for the glitters and you get plenty of coverage in one coat. Personally I like these better as layering polishes. I love the effect the matte bar glitters give against the contrasting backgrounds.

Which look is your favorite? I can't decide between Peach Fuzz and Tweedy.

This polish looks like a vile of gypsy tears to me. It is so freaking pretty and sparkly.  Tears of Mer has a blue jelly base packed with gold glitters and flakies that flash in the light. Have I mentioned that I love this polish yet, because I do.





Here I've done layered skittles, pinky is OPI Can't Find My Czechbook, ring is China Glaze Man Hunt, middle is Maybelline Color Show Shocking Seas, pointer is Maybelline Color Show Onyx Rush, and thumb is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Ivory Skull. Each of these different "undies" brings out a different glow in the polish. Personally I really like it over the black polish, holy cow...the sparkle!
