The base for today's Stamping Saturday is the much coveted Emily de Molly Monet's Garden. Look at this squishy jelly sandwich in a bottle.
This was two coats and it was fully opaque. Each brushstroke was filled with squeals of glee because of the pretty. I'm 98% certain the future hubby had thought I'd finally lost my mind. I mean, look how freaking pretty it is.
Next I stamped on some butterfly wings using Nail Craze NC-02 and Konad Black polish. I love how well it stamps, but Konad Black is a bitch to clean up. Ugh.
Finally I used a dotting tool and Seche Snapdragon to add the dots on the wings. I wanted to have dots in a complimentary color, and you see those little flashes of pink in the base polish, so pink dots it is.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

I kind of HATE you because you have my #1 lemming. It's an impressionist's wet dream. I think that using it as the base for this stamp is inspired and I love how it turned out. Regarding the clean up of the black konad polish, I have been doing something that makes it a million times easier to clean it up. Ulta has these Essence nail art quick dry drops that I use over my stamped manis to avoid smearing the design. The drops also dry the polish on my skin and after a few minutes, I can rub and scrape the black Konad polish off my skin very easily. If I use acetone to clean up the black polish, it gets imbedded in my skin like crazy and I can never clean it up well enough. The Essence drops also have cuticle oil so it's super moisturizing. I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteAnd why didn't you share this tidbit on knowledge with us sooner??? :P Now I'm going to get me some drying drops.
DeleteI know right. Rude much for not telling us of this trick. Although I have another trick too. Remind me to tell you in emails.
DeleteAgree with the Essence drops as Cynth says.
ReplyDeleteAmy this IS your best stamp mani yet. Gorgeous!
I'll have to find those drops. Because Cynthia is right about how it gets "imbedded in my skin." That's the worst.
DeleteAND...thanks love! I feel like I get better each week!
Normally I despise butterflies cause I think they're evil flying insects that should die...but besides that, this nail polish is too pretty that I have to look past my hatred.
ReplyDeleteIf you hate butterflies I shudder to think what bugs you think are acceptable. Also I agree the polish is pretty. ;-)
