OPI It's My Year

This was the last polish I wore as a single lady. Can you believe that? I wore this for my rehersal dinner the night before the wedding. I know you all are dying to see wedding pics (I AM TOO) but I do have a post on what I did with my nails (and a pic I stole from a friend, so you can see things too).
I figured the name of this OPI was more than appropriate. It's My Year seemed like a good way to celebrate the new beginnings and well its really pretty so that helps. This polish is a bit of a chamelon, it changes in different lighting. I'm wearing 2 thin coats, and I love how it goes from pink to gold to bronzey purple.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#StampingSaturday: Cozy Sparkly Sweater Nails
Saturday, October 11, 2014

Ok, so I know thats a helluva name for my nail look for Stamping Saturday. However, thats what this look makes me think. I feel like I have cozy sparkly sweater nails. Enough build up for you? Lets take a look.
I started off with a base of F.U.N. Lacquer Honey Bear (H). Honey Bear (H) is a holographic gold glitter polish filled with gold flakies and shimmer. The (H) means it has holographic spectraflair which takes the polish up the next notch. This polish can be wore as a topper or with enough coats on its own. Here I have 2 coats on. If I was going to wear it solid, I might go an extra coat, but since I knew I was adding stamping on top, 2 seemed enough.

Love those rainbows. Next I stamped on a big houndstooth pattern from the BM322 plate. The stamp color is Zoya Nyssa*, which adds that cozy warm sweater feel to the look. I love this look because you still get the rainbows but the pattern is very traditional.
So those are my cozy sparkly sweater nails. What do you think? Don't forget to add your stamped look below!

Zoya Ultra Pixie Dusts

*pr sample
Today I have the latest trio of textured polishes from Zoya. They are calling this trio the Ultra Pixie Dusts. All three of these shades are on the red scale and dry to a matte formula.
Up first I have Noir a deep vampy plum filled with bix hexes. This is my favorite out of the 3 in the group. Noir is perfect for fall and I love the matte finish!
Next is Oswin, which Zoya calls a true red. It is definitely brighter than the other two polishes, this one you could wear in all seasons.
Finally we have Arianna. Zoya describes Arianna as a "blue toned red wine" color. On my skin tone, there is almost no difference between Arianna and Oswin. I can tell that Arianna is a deeper red but they are insanely close.
Do you have a favorite? Mine is Noir! I wish Zoya had chosen to do 3 shades in completely different colors rather than tripling up on red shades, however I do love their textured polishes. I can see wearing these as fun accent nails!!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#TheLacquerRing: Vampy

Hey all TLR is back for October. Normally for our first prompt every month, we pick a color. However this month we are being inspired by our sweet friend Frosso from Lacquer Me Silly. She recently announced her retirement from blogging, as life has gotten to busy and other things are taking priority. As a founding member of #TLR and #StampingSaturday she will be missed. However I think she might pop in from time to time on Instagram, because I just don't think she can go cold turkey. Anywho, it is no secret that Fross loves vampy colors so we chose to be inspired by her love for vamp!
For my look, I chose to go with China Glaze's Purr-fect Plum and Revlon Parfumerie Autumn Spice. Autumn Spice smells like fall ya'll. It's crazy strong and I can smell it even after topcoating. I added on some gold square studs just for a little extra kick.
Don't forget to see what the other ladies came up with as well!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Honeymoon Nails

For our honeymoon the Mister and I went to Fiji! We love to travel and between both of us, we've been lucky enough to cover most of the globe. We have a ritual that we use to pick our travel destinations. We both pick 3 locations, but you aren't allowed to pick somewhere you've been. For example, I can't pick Greece because I've been there, but he can because he hasn't. We then throw our collective 6 choices in a hat and draw. We each get a veto, but you don't have to use it up. Fiji was picked first this time, and neither of us vetoed, so FIJI Honeymoon it was.
I think you all know me well enough to know that I totally took polishes on the honeymoon with me. For this trip I brought along Cirque's Kontiki collection. It was amazing to lounge on the porch of the bure and do my nails. So fun. I didn't take any fancy tools or anything, just me and the polish bottles.
For the first look, I paired Midsummer Night (blue) and Thicker Than Water (teal) together. This look was spot on color wise for the ocean. You'd see gorgeous teal water in the shallow areas and then it would change suddenly to deep dark blue where the drop offs happened. It was crazy cool looking.
After I took off the first look, I chose to just wear Dear Dahlia on it's own. I tell you, these polishes were made to be taken on tropical vacation. They were perfect and I got so many compliments on them! Also, do you guys love the hermit crabs? I thought they were so fun and they were everywhere!! I've never seen them in the wild before, just for sale in pet stores.
What is your dream vacation destination?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#StampingSaturday: What the Bride Wore
Sunday, October 5, 2014
10/05/2014 01:44:00 PM
It's time for the much awaited post, What the Bride Wore. I'd like to start with a disclaimer...for some reason my hands look like old lady hands in these pictures. Please pretend they look as pretty as they normally do.
Also, yes, I totally used my dress as a backdrop and my belt as a prop. That's how I roll. Now on to the details. For the base of this look, I used OPI Samoan Sand. This polish is my exact skin tone. I did two thin layers for an even look and then topped it with Cirque Galinda. Galinda is a white and iridescent glitter topper that added the right amount of sparkle to this look. I then used Sinful Colors Snow Me White and MoYou London Bridal Plate 06 for the lace tips.
Also there is a whole overly dramatic story about how Sinful Colors Snow Me White came to be my stamping polish. Lets just say there was a broken bottle and some panicky late night runs to Walmart involved.
Here is a picture from the Happy Day! I stole this one from a friend on FB as I'm still waiting on the real pictures to come back. Can't wait for those!!
This look was just over the top enough that I loved it, but subtle enough that it feels bridal. What do you think?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

My picks from OPI Nordic Collection
Thursday, October 2, 2014
10/02/2014 11:00:00 AM
Today is going to be a picture heavy post. There were 5 polishes from the new OPI Nordic Collection that I deemed worthy of adding to my collection. Let me show you which ones I picked.
First up is Do You Have This Color in Stock-holm? This color is a blue leaning purple, I've shown it to you before in this post.
Next up we have Can't Afjord Not To. This is a gorgeous orange polish that leans a tad coral. It is super bright, although I wouldn't term it a fall/winter color, I love how it goes with the other colors in the collection.
My third pick was My Dogsled is a Hybrid which if you know me, there is no reason why I wouldn't love this. Teals are my favorite polishes so loving this one is an easy choice. This is a green leaning light teal.
This is my one vampy pick from the collection, Viking in a Vinter Vonderland. This is a deep plum purple shade that is perfect for the fall/winter.
Finally we have the lone glitter in the collection, My Voice is a Little Norse. It is a total standout. Its a holographic glitter in a charcoal gray base. I'm wearing two coats here and it is almost fully opaque.
Which color is your favorite? I'm going with Do You Have This Color in Stock-holm? but I love the others too!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
