#TheLacquerRing: Brown & #31DC2015: Gradient

Remember yesterday when I told you I was going to combine prompts today. Well I did. I combined #TheLacquerRing which was a color prompt, Brown (thank you Cynthia!) and today's #31DC2015 prompt of gradients. I knew the colors I wanted to use but had several disasticures trying to get this together. I'm not kidding. This is the third iteration of the look and strangely the one I like the most.
For this look I used four different Zoya Polishes from light to dark they are Taylor, Spencer, Chanelle, and Emilia. I was going for a brush-stroke gradient so I just brushed each color on a little lower than the next, it was super easy and quite a fun look.
Since I can't leave things alone, I decided to add some stamping on top with another brown polish. The stamping was done with MoYou London Fashionista Plate 04 and Mundo de Unas Chocolate.
I love how the stamping kind of fades as the brown polishes get darker. Tomorrow the #31DC2015 moves to style prompts. It's a new frontier!!

It's the holiday season and its hard not to do the same festive looks over and over again. But sometimes you want something a smidge different. After wearing Bellaluna Cosmetic's Toffee the other day, I really wanted to turn it into a reindeer. But not a typical reindeer. After looking at some pictures, I fell in love with their speckled hides and chose to recreate that.
I started out with a base of Toffee* and then used a makeup sponge to dab on an imperfect gradient of Zoya Spencer*. Once that was dry I used OPI Alpine Snow and a dotting tool to add the speckles in a random pattern. This look was super easy and fast to create, but I love it so hard. I got so many compliments and did not want to take it off.
What do you think of this look? It's a new twist on reindeer inspired mani's and on animal prints as well.

Stripes with Zoya Naturel Deux

Yesterday I showed you all swatches of the Zoya Naturel Duex collection. Since all the colors in this collection go together beautifully, I decided to do some nail art using all 6. Taking a long striper brush I created thin stripes of all 6 colors on my nails. Since this was all done free hand, my stripes are a little wonky, but you could only tell when you were super up close (kind of like these pictures).
What do you think of my stripes? Is this a look you would wear? I'm in love with it. I thought it was super fun and wore it for a few days.

I was pretty much the worst blogger ever last week. The sad thing is I had looks done, photos taken, and edited but I just didn't have the time to write the posts. Things were going on. ;-) Pretty much winding down summer, getting closer to the wedding, and just busy beyond belief.Speaking of winding down summer, can y'all believe it is AUGUST already? Summer is almost over and I'm 30ish days away from getting married! I wasn't sure about giving up my bright summer colors, breezy dresses and sunshine for colder weather, sweaters, and boots but Zoya's Naturel Duex Collection is the perfect transition to fall. This marvelous collection has me excited for the changing season now. Let's take a look. I'll show you the colors then talk formula at the end.
First up is Spencer. Described as a "camel creme" which is a spot on description.
Marnie a "deep warm plum" is a beautiful dark purpley thats almost chocolatey.
Next we have Madeline which is a "muted rose."
Aubrey is a "medium mauve creme" which looks great on my skin tone (aka super pale).
Chanelle is a "toasted almond." I'm not a fan of almonds (or nuts in general {THATS WHAT SHE SAID}) so I'm going to take their word for it.
Finally we have Emilia. Emilia is described as a "dark chocolate." It makes me want a chocolate bar as the color is spot on.
This collection was a dream. I applied two coats and no top coat for each swatch, the polishes apply easily, self level, and dry super shiny. Aubrey and Madeline are my two favorites from this collection. What are your favorites? Be sure to stop by tomorrow as I have a fun look using all 6 polishes from this collection.
