#31DC2016: Blue

Today is day #5 for the 31 Day Challenge and the prompt is blue. I tried a few different looks for blue before ending up on this one. I knew I wanted to start with Cirque Colors Acid Wash, but I wasn't sure where I would end up. I ended up doing 2 easy coats of Acid Wash and then used some vinyls to create my final look.

I used the Twinkled T Drip Vinyls and added drips with Cirque Colors Monte Carlo (light blue) and Cirque Colors Santorini (bright blue). I'm really digging the combo of these three blue polishes together.

Have you had a favorite prompt so far? Check out all the others below to see other blue nails.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Cirque Colors Poolside Collection - Nordstrom Exclusive

I'm really excited to show you all this collection, so no chit chat, we're going to DIVE right in. Once again, Cirque Colors has paired with Nordstrom and their creative director Olivia Kim to create an exclusive collection just for the new Poolside Pop In collection. This limited edition release features a range of cool-toned colors accented with poppy hues for a touch of Hollywood glam. They will only be available for a limited time only, May 29th through June 28th. So lets check them out!

Up first is Julep one of two holos from this collection. Julep is a mint holographic polish that is so unique. I don't think I've got another one like this. I've used two thin coats for full coverage.

Next up is Santorini. This medium blue cobalt polish really brings to mind the Greek Island it's named for. I think I need to go back ASAP! This is a creme polish that applies evenly with two coats.

Next is the lone topper in this collection. This is Summer Soiree a pale pink and coral sprinkles topper. It looks positively patriotic shown over Santorini. One coat with no glitter placement was the perfect amount.

Rita is the pop of fiery color in this cool toned collection. A tomato red creme that leans a little to the orange side, Rita is bright! This is a perfect classic Hollywood red that applied a little sheer, so I used three thin coats for full coverage.

The next two colors I gave you a sneak peek at a few weeks ago. Up first is the sky blue creme Monte Carlo. I love this color it is really vibrant and applies easily in two coats.

The final holo in the collection is Cabana Capri, a baby blue filled with rainbows. This one was also semi sheer so I used three thin coats for full coverage.

I'm in love with this collection as a whole. I think Annie knocked it out of the park. Julep and Rita are my favorites. What are yours?

JulieG Summer 2014 Cruise Collection & a Giveaway

Hey all! So I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited because this is my 200th post! Whoo! I actually missed my blog birthday in February (it didn't even occur to me to pay attention) so I'm going to celebrate 200 posts instead. Today for your viewing pleasure I have the full JulieG Cruise Collection. Before we get into the pictures, the formula on all of these is great. 3 coats and no problems.

Up first is Miami Beach, which is a medium toned coral. This color is really perfect for summer.

Canary Islands is a bright yellow. In low light it was actually a really close match to my ring, but it pops out in the sunlight.

Old San Juan is a warm tangerine tone. I thought this color would be horrible on my skin tone, but ended up really liking it.

Tahiti is a soft minty green. This one had a subtle shimmer in the bottle, but it disappears on the nail, which I'm totally okay with.

Next we have Santorini. This is a gorgeous light blue that almost leans periwinkle in certain lighting. However, as someone who has been to Santorini, this is totally the wrong shade of blue to represent the island. You can see what I mean here.

Finally we have Rio de Janeiro. A berry purple polish that is really fun.

Which color is your favorite? The good news is I bought an extra set to giveaway to one of you lucky readers. Enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. This giveaway is open internationally, but if you have shipping restrictions to your country, please refrain from entering.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
