#31DC2015: Galaxy and #StampingSaturday

Another day another #31DC2015 look. Today is also #StampingSaturday so once again, I've combined the two. Today's challenge prompt is Galaxies. I love a good galaxy look. They are so fun, yet so easy to do.

For today's look I started with a base of Polished by KPT Wreath for the Stars. This beauty looks like a galaxy in a bottle, so it makes the perfect base for a this prompt. This polish is a black base filled with green to purple color shift and silver holographic glitters. I used three thin coats for full coverage.

I then went in with a TON of polishes to great the galaxies. I started with a neon purple polish that I picked up from Cirque Colors sample sale. I then layered on Maybelline Color Show Ultra Violet, Polished by KPT Underneath the Milky Way, Color Club In De-Nile and Over the Moon. Once my galaxy bases were done, I stamped on stars from Uber Chic 2-03 and the supernova image from Bundle Monster BM-610.  The white polish is Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

There you have it! Galaxies on my fingers. Tomorrow is my ultimate nail art nemesis, the dreaded water marble! We'll see how it goes.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#TheLacquerRing: Holographic Blue

How has everyone's week been? I got selected for Jury Duty so it's been crazy here. I'm downtown all day but I'm still trying to stay on top of work, so I don't get too far behind. It's definitely exhausting, but I'll manage. Thankfully, we don't have to report on Friday, so I'll have a day to get caught up.

It's that time of the month again. The first #TheLacquerRing prompt is here, color! Our color prompt was Holographic Blue. I went with Cupcake Polish Et Tu, Brute?, be aware this one is a specialty box color so unless you get lucky and find it in a destash, it'll be hard to come across. Are we noticing a theme on the blog this week. It was unintentional, but I'm ok with it. Et Tu, Brute? is a royal blue holographic. I used two thin coats for full opacity here. The formula on this one was perfect.

Since I can't leave things alone of course I had to get out another blue holographic polish for some extra fun. I chose Color Club Over the Moon for some fun striped tribal type mani. You can't see it very well because of holo on holo, but I'm ok with that.

Be sure to check out all the other Blue Holographic manis from the other ladies below!

Holographic Gradient

So since I got my hands on the Color Club Halo Hues, I haven't been able to leave them alone. I wanted to do a fun gradient with them. You might have seen the super sparkely preview of them on Facebook. I decided to use the blue (Over the Moon) and the purple (Eternal Beauty).

I don't know about you all, but I love this gradient. I couldn't stop staring at my fingers when I was outside. I even dragged the boyfriend out into the sun to stare at it a few times. He wasn't as pumped as I was.

Which colors from the collection should I do as a gradient next?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Color Club 2013 Halo Hues Collection

OMG!! I'm so going to photo bomb you all today. If you like my page on Facebook (YOU DON'T?!? Click here to like my page) you've already seen the awesome nail mail I received yesterday. Naturally I couldn't wait to get these beauties on my fingers, so I spent my evening swatching them for you.

I'm aware that the 2013 Color Club Halo Hues came out a while ago. I've admired them from afar, lusted from afar, wished for them, and then finally I gave in and ordered the set. When they came in the mail yesterday I showed them to the BF and said "they give me a polish boner!" He was weirded out to say the least.

Up first is Cosmic Fate. This is a bronzey/orange halo. Here you are seeing 2 coats. Application was smooth, easy, and flawless.

Next we have Beyond. This is a slate black base filled with rainbows. 2 easy coats and the same flawless application.

OH GOD! Eternal Beauty is just that, so freaking beautiful.  The royal purple base on this is amazeballs. 2 easy coats and the same great formula.

If you thought the purple one was awesome, look at Over the Moon. My God! This blue is so rich and the rainbows are packed in there. I almost swooned when I put it on. Again, 2 easy coats, no application issues.

Next we have Miss Bliss, a rich pink. I'm running out of words to describe how pretty these all are. The same easy application here with 2 coats.

Last but not least, I have Kismet. This color was hard to photograph for me. The base is more lime-greeny than you can tell in the pics. The color is so vibrant in real life. 2 coats, great application.

Which color is your favorite? Any must haves? My picks are Over the Moon and Eternal Beauty for must haves, but I LOVE the entire collection.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
