#31DC2016: Glitter

Today's glitter look is all about glitter-ception. Is that a thing? I used glitter on glitter!11 My base is Pretty Serious Viscous Vampire has a red jelly base that's filled with multi-sized red and fuschia glitter. It's almost flourescent bright.

I then used Twinkled T Quatrefoil Vinyls and Cupcake Polish As Good As Rose Gold to add on my second layer of glitter. I really love the way the pink glitter works with the red underneath.

Tomorrow is half moons. See you then.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#31DC2016: Orange

Back for day 2 of the 31 Day Challenge. Today's prompt was Orange. I really struggled with this one. For some reason, Orange had me stumped.

I started with Cupcake Polish Cocoon, a medium coppery orange polish. Check out the rainbows in this beautiful holo! This was two simple and easy coats. Love this color. Because I wasn't sure what to do next, I started looking at stamping plates to see what caught my eye.

I landed on a stamping plate from Born Pretty Store BPL-023* which had fun candy shapes. I reversed the stamped images with Sinful Color Snow Me White and filled them in with Polished for Days Beach'in, a bright peachy orange filled with shimmer.

This probably won't end up on my favorites list after the challenge is done, but I'm fairly happy with it. I like the combo of the two different oranges together.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

#StampingSaturday: Candy Corns &Unicorns

It's the weekend!!! Yeah!! Picture me running out of work yesterday doing the Braveheart Freedom yell. This week was long, I could not wait for it to be over.

Today, I have a simple but fun look that I totally love. It's no secret that I adore the Lacquer Lust Unicorn series, so of course I needed Lacquer Lust Candy Corns & Unicorns. I paired it with a fun candy corn decal from Uber Chic Halloween-01. It's filled in with Beyond the Nail Pumpkin Spice and Cupcake Polish Don't Worry Bee Happy

The yellow bled through my white stamping polish, which was a bit of a bummer, but from far away it looks awesome. Be sure to add your link below and join us in our Facebook group!

#31DC2015: Inspired by a Tutorial

Today for the #31DC2015 we had to be inspired by a tutorial. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do until I stumbled on this tutorial from Pshiit. She always has the best looks, so I decided to follow along and create my own version.

For my look I started with a base of Cirque Colors Memento Mori and KBShimmer How You Dune? Once that was dry I went in with Right Angle Nail Vinyls and several blue polishes to create the marbled look. Polishes include Cirque Colors Royal Hawaiian, ILNP Harbour Island, OPI Fly, and Cupcake Polish Et Tu, Brute? This is such an easy idea for a high impact look. I really love the way it turned out.

The final day is tomorrow, we have to honor nails we love!!

#31DC2015: Yellow Nails

Holy Shit Snacks you guys! I never thought it would work, but apparently I was blessed with magical Russian nail powers for the evening, because I managed to pull this off. I'm so excited, that I just can't wait to show you. Here it is, day 3 of the #31DC2015: Yellow Nails.

I started off with a base of OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana and did a needle drag with Cupcake Polish Don't Worry Bee Happy. Obviously I followed this tutorial from Sveta Sanders. I cannot get over the fact that I was actually able to pull this off.

Can I just say that I love wearing yellow polish. It looks so great with my ring. Why don't I do that more? Green nails tomorrow. I need to start planning now!

#TheLacquerRing: Holographic Blue

How has everyone's week been? I got selected for Jury Duty so it's been crazy here. I'm downtown all day but I'm still trying to stay on top of work, so I don't get too far behind. It's definitely exhausting, but I'll manage. Thankfully, we don't have to report on Friday, so I'll have a day to get caught up.

It's that time of the month again. The first #TheLacquerRing prompt is here, color! Our color prompt was Holographic Blue. I went with Cupcake Polish Et Tu, Brute?, be aware this one is a specialty box color so unless you get lucky and find it in a destash, it'll be hard to come across. Are we noticing a theme on the blog this week. It was unintentional, but I'm ok with it. Et Tu, Brute? is a royal blue holographic. I used two thin coats for full opacity here. The formula on this one was perfect.

Since I can't leave things alone of course I had to get out another blue holographic polish for some extra fun. I chose Color Club Over the Moon for some fun striped tribal type mani. You can't see it very well because of holo on holo, but I'm ok with that.

Be sure to check out all the other Blue Holographic manis from the other ladies below!

Cupcake Polish Water You Doing?

So a few weeks ago, I took a long weekend, stole the Husband and joined family in Nantucket. It was a glorious four days and I did not want to come back to the city or work. But them's the breaks. I did wear this beauty when I was there and even my brother-in-law commented on how awesome it was. See...they're learning!!!

This beauty is Cupcake Polish Water You Doing? I cannot get enough of it. It's an aqua blue linear holographic polish that shines major rainbows in the sun! I used three thin coats here (actually more than needed because I needed it to last), which applied smoothly and evenly.

This stunner last through two beach days, multiple dips in the pool, rough housing with kids, and a three hour bike trip. When we got back to they city, I only had minimal tip wear. I love it when a polish lasts!

Are you managing to grab any long weekend vacations this summer?

Final Holiday Look of 2014

Just a quickie post to show you the look I wore on Christmas. It was a simple 3 part mani. I started off with a base of Cupcake Polish Just Sleighing Around. A gorgeous reddish pink soft holo polish, this is 2 coats.

I then used curved nail vinyls to block out a "negative" space and filled in one side with Cupcake Polish Ornamentary My Dear (champagne gold) and Cupcake Polish Deck the Malls (green).

It's a simple but festive look. This is the end of holiday looks for me. I'm not going to lie...I'm going to miss them. But we have all the holidays ahead of us, so I'll just have to look forward to those. Are you all thinking of your New Years Resolutions yet? I know mine and it's kinda crazy. I'll fill y'all in later.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
