#Crowned: KC Royals

Welcome to that moment where I geek out about the ROYALS winning the WORLD SERIES! Cheering on the KC Royals has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I've been to more games in Kauffman Stadium than I can count. The last time they won a World Series I was barely four months old. Cut to last year, I live in NYC, can't go to any of the games, and I end up crying alone in a bar after work as we lost in game 7. I spent a year being sad about that but then the Royals came out this year hotter and stronger than last year. I cannot wait to clench and go to the show again. THEN....dun dun duuuuuh...the METS win and are in the show. Literally....my worst nightmare y'all. If I'm serious about Royals Baseball, my husband LIVES and BREATHES Mets Baseball. So now, you have two uber competitive people who do not joke around when it comes to their teams, married and those teams facing off in a Championship Series. This only ends good for one of us. I'm happy to report, that I came out on the good end of this one. THANK GOD! My husband not so much, but we weathered the storm and hopefully won't ever see this kind of match up again.

So long story short, I love Royals, my husband loves Mets, we got to go to NYC games, I saw my team win, BEST GAME EVER! This is what I wore on my nails, because of course I have to do something.

I used a complete batting lineup from Cirque Colors for my baseball mani. I was only going to use the glitters, but as I was searching for them I kept running into "oh this would go well" moments and the next thing I knew I had seven bottles on my desk ready to rock. The blue creme on my thumb/middle finger is NYFW, white is done with Carpe Diem, gold glitter is Helios, blue glitter is Lapis, gold holo in the crown is Rococo, the white for my baseball is City Lights, and the red for the laces is Rita. Everything is handpainted on these, so they aren't perfect, but I'm pretty damn proud of them.

Is anyone with me on #TeamRoyals? What's your favorite sport/team to watch?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Warby Parker - Cirque Colors for Nordstrom Pop-In

I promised you I'd show you these today and here they are. It should be known that I'm in love with this whole collection. Nordstrom's newest monthly pop-in welcomes Warby Parker - an innovative eyewear brand known for their vintage-styled frames and their "buy a pair, give a pair" program. Cirque Colors has created an exclusive 5-piece collection inspired by Warby Parker's logo and their love for all things literature. For all swatches I used two coats unless otherwise noted. Now prepare for massive amounts of pictures!

Up first is City Lights, a dove white holographic polish. Be still my beating heart. I cannot get enough of this beauty. It's the closest thing you can get to a true white holographic polish. Adding in that holo dust, makes it almost impossible, but this is pretty damn close.

Next we have Big Sur,  a medium blue filled with the perfect amount of magenta shimmer. For some reason I couldn't get the shimmer to pick up in my photos but it is there and it is freaking pretty y'all.

Here is Iconoclast featured over Big Sur. Iconoclast is a beautiful salt and pepper style glitter with just the right amount of holo glitter thrown in. For my swatch I used one coat on a few fingers and dabbed it on with a sponge for a glitter gradient on a few others. For the normal coat, I got amazing payoff, I didn't have to dab or place any glitter. It worked beautifully with a sponge too. It's so versatile.

Greenwich  ended up being a surprise favorite for me. I'm all about those holos but this light blue almost green polish filled with delicate gold flakes is so beautiful. It's the perfect balance of creme and flake.

Finally we have Fear and Loathing in New York. This slate grey holographic polish is so amazing. I can't love it enough. It almost has a touch of duochrome because occasionally I see some pink flare in there.

That's a wrap! Do you have a favorite? I can't pick, this collection gives me heart eyes and I'm ok with that. ;-) Check the information below on where to buy in person, but you can always order direct from Nordstrom!

#StampingSaturday: Gradients and Glasses

So today I have a sneak peek at two amazing polishes from a collection I'm going to show you tomorrow. Cirque Colors was asked to participate in another Nordstom Pop-In with Warby Parker. Annie created one of my favorite collections ever based on Warby Parker's logo and their love for literary references. I'll show you the full collection tomorrow, but lets check out my #StampingSaturday look first.

To create this look I started with a base gradient of Cirque Colors City Lights (light grey holo) and Cirque Colors Fear and Loathing in New York (dark grey holo). Once again, Annie's holo polishes are on point. The formula on these is absolutely fantastic and they gradient together so well.

Since these polishes are designed around Warby Parker, I felt it only right to stamp on some adorable glasses. I used Konad Black  and MoYou London Hipster 08 for the single accent. I couldn't bear to cover up that gra

And there you have it. Check back tomorrow to see all five shades from the Warby Parker collaboration.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
