Digital Dozen: Tropical - Toucans

Oh my gosh ya'll, I made it to Day 5. I obviously deserve all the praise. *eye roll*
Anyways, for today's look, I started with a base of Tonic Caliente (which I stupidly forgot was magnetic) and then I stamped on some greenery with Painted Polish Stamped in Honeydew from MoYouLondon Tropical Collection 10. I followed that up with some reverse stamped toucans from MoYouLondon Tropical Collection 05 and 06. They were made with Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, Cirque Colors Carpe Diem, and a sample color orange from Cirque Colors.
These are super fun and I'm pretty relieved to have the entire week is finished.

Hey y'all. Long time no blog. I feel like I say that every time. Mommy life is hard and I don't have quite the free time or energy that I used to have, so posts are few and far between. However, I wanted to pop in and participate in the Digital Dozen's June Birthday celebration. It was a little selfish of me, cause it's my birthday and I picked the design.
The original design can be seen below, but first I'll show off my nails.
For this design I started with a base of Cirque Colors Carpe Diem, then using a ton of the Vice Collection (Hedonist/yellow, Lean/purple, Wanderlust/blue, Taboo/violet) as well as Fire Island/orangey-red. I stamped over that using a design from UberChic 1-03 with Painted Polish Midnight Mischief. I tried to stay as true to the design as possible, but it got a little wonky towards the edges. I'm going to call it and say that today's look is my least favorite of the challenge. I found this cool pattern on pinterest that I thought would translate well. Either it doesn't translate or my execution sucked. I'm not sure which.
Basics are this: base is Zoya Tris* which I love, it's a deep gunmetal gray with silver shimmer. I did the sheep with Cirque Colors Memento Mori and Carpe Diem.

I don't know about you guys, but I am stoked that one of my favorite childhood books is finally being made into a movie. The cast is to die for as well. Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, Oprah as Mrs. Which and Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I need you to get a copy of A Wrinkle in Time immediately.
While searching for inspiration I came across this cool graphic novel style artwork by Hope Laresn about the opening. I decided to try and recreate that look. I started with a base of ILNP After Midnight.
I then used Cirque Colors Memento Mori (black), Cirque Colors Carpe Diem (white), Cirque Colors Meet Me In Montauk (pale blue) to recreate the look. Obviously, my freehand skills need ALOT of work, but I tried. So...yeah. It is what it is.

Today is all about Half Moons. I took the moon portion very SERIOUSLY. You'll see in a moment. But first lets look at the gorgeous base polish that I used, because when I say gorgeous I mean it. This is Emily de Molly Reign of Osiris. This is a deep blue holographic polish with subtle gold shimmer.
This might be my new favorite look of the challenge. I really love the way the moons came out. Tomorrow is galaxies!

Since Reign of Osiris looks like a deep night sky, I stamped on starts with Uber Chic Plate 2-03 in MoYou London White Knight. I then went in with Cirque Colors Carpe Diem and Cirque Colors Memento Mori to create some moons for my Half Moons. HOW FUN?!
This might be my new favorite look of the challenge. I really love the way the moons came out. Tomorrow is galaxies!

Welcome to that moment where I geek out about the ROYALS winning the WORLD SERIES! Cheering on the KC Royals has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I've been to more games in Kauffman Stadium than I can count. The last time they won a World Series I was barely four months old. Cut to last year, I live in NYC, can't go to any of the games, and I end up crying alone in a bar after work as we lost in game 7. I spent a year being sad about that but then the Royals came out this year hotter and stronger than last year. I cannot wait to clench and go to the show again. THEN....dun dun duuuuuh...the METS win and are in the show. Literally....my worst nightmare y'all. If I'm serious about Royals Baseball, my husband LIVES and BREATHES Mets Baseball. So now, you have two uber competitive people who do not joke around when it comes to their teams, married and those teams facing off in a Championship Series. This only ends good for one of us. I'm happy to report, that I came out on the good end of this one. THANK GOD! My husband not so much, but we weathered the storm and hopefully won't ever see this kind of match up again.
So long story short, I love Royals, my husband loves Mets, we got to go to NYC games, I saw my team win, BEST GAME EVER! This is what I wore on my nails, because of course I have to do something.
I used a complete batting lineup from Cirque Colors for my baseball mani. I was only going to use the glitters, but as I was searching for them I kept running into "oh this would go well" moments and the next thing I knew I had seven bottles on my desk ready to rock. The blue creme on my thumb/middle finger is NYFW, white is done with Carpe Diem, gold glitter is Helios, blue glitter is Lapis, gold holo in the crown is Rococo, the white for my baseball is City Lights, and the red for the laces is Rita. Everything is handpainted on these, so they aren't perfect, but I'm pretty damn proud of them.
