Saran Wrap Mani

Today, I've tried a completely new mani look. I've been wanting to do the Saran Wrap mani for quite sometime, and now I feel stupid for waiting so long, because it was super easy and gives a gorgeous effect.

I felt like I had pools on my nails while wearing these. But enough chatter, lets look at the nails. They're really the reason you are here anyways. :-)

To create these nails, I started with a base of China Glaze Highlight of my Summer on all nails except my ring finger. On the ring finger I used two coats of China Glaze Water you Waiting For. After letting Highlight of my Summer dry completely, I then painted on one coat of China Glaze Ride the Waves. While that was wet, I then took a crumpled ball of Saran Wrap, touched that to the nail and pulled away. It created this awesome swirly effect that I loved.

What do you think these nails look like? Do you think they look like a pool?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

    1. Highlight of my Summer is kind of a huge pain in the ass, but I'm a firm believer that everyone needs Ride the Waves in their lives. :-)

    2. Its just really finicky and chalky going on. Takes more coats than it should to even out and tends to react badly with topcoats. It's very disappointing for a China Glaze. Normally their formulas are spot on.

    3. Ahh okay. That was actually the one I wanted mostly. It looks great, but now I probably wont track it down ;)

    4. There are other colors out there that are very similar but don't have the pain in the ass formula. I'd track down a dupe for sure. :-)

  6. love this! I agree now I want to go swimming! Lol I did the saran wrap once and I didn't love the effect on me, maybe I just needed more practice ( like that damn water marbeling ) or I just picked the wrong colors. Either way I love the colors you chose and how this came out! Fabulous!! <3

    1. I think it came out so well because I used a jelly polish for the top color. It gives it a different dimension than a straight up creme. Totally a winning combo in my book.
