China Manis: The Great Wall
Tuesday, October 1, 2013

Today I have the first installment in the China Mani series. When we were in Beijing we visited the Great Wall. The Great Wall is certainly great. It's amazing and breathtaking. We climbed to the very top of the section we were at, and gawd, it was hard. It was like the worst StairMaster workout ever. None of the stairs are the same height, so it isn't like walking up normal steps.
Here are two of the pictures I took, that I used as my inspiration for my mani.
What do you think? Does it look like the Great Wall? Just to see, I added a Matte Top Coat.
I actually preferred the matte version. I can't wait to show you some of the other pictures and the inspired manis from our trip.
Polishes used: Base (Sky) China Glaze Kinetic Candy, Clouds Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in White, Mountains Essie Shake Your $$ Maker, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Green Tea, China Glaze Gaga for Green, Wall China Glaze Elephant Walk and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Evening Fog.
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Neon Dotticure

I am obsessed with neon manicures lately. I am totally in a neon place in life right now. I want every manicure to be bright and in your face. It must be because its Summer. Thats the only explanation I have.
For this look, I started off with a base of my go to white, Sally Hansen's Ivory Skull. On my thumb, pointer, and pinkie I applied Lush Lacquers' Clowning Around. For the dots on my middle and ring finger I used China Glaze Pool Party (pink), Essie Shake Your $$ Maker (green), Spoiled Did I Dye it too Blonde? (yellow), and Studio M Sunset (orange).
What look do you keep repeating this summer?
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Untried Polish Challenge: In Season
Wednesday, May 29, 2013

And I officially suck at life, because while I had the pictures ready for this post and intended that it go up on time, I totally forgot about it. The 3 day weekend threw me off my game.
Anyways, today is day 13 of the Untried Polish Challenge and the theme is In Season. It's almost summer here so to me that means BRIGHT COLORS.
I started off with a base of Butter London's Diamond Geezer. This is a silver foil that is absolutely amazing. However, removing it sucks, but that is the nature of all polish like this.
After waiting for Diamond Geezer to dry, I painted on half moons in Essie's Shake Your $$ Maker. This is from their Neon Summer Collection, It's a super bright neon jelly, that freaked my camera out. I couldn't get the color to show anywhere near its actual brightness.
To spice things up, I lined the Half Moons with Blue Sequins or Gleequins as they are called. This was a really fun mani to wear, and I'm glad I branched out and tried half moons. I'll try these again in the future now that I know how easy they are.
What does "In Season" mean to you?
