Cirque x Met Collaboration: Manus X Machina

I'm showing off one of my all time favorite collections today. I am in love with the colors in this collection as well as the inspiration behind each polish. Recently Cirque Colors was asked to collaborate on a limited edition collection for the Metropolitan Museum's costume exhibit, Manus x Machina. This exhibition explores how fashion designers are reconciling the handmade and the machine-made in the creation of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear. Inspiration was pulled from several dresses in the collection and these stunning polishes were created.

Up first is Cirque Colors Ultrasonic, a sheer linen white polish. I used three thin coats here, no application issues. I did have some visible nail line, but that doesn't bother me.

Next we have Cirque Colors Laser Jet (shown over Ultrasonic), a black holographic glitter topper that is inspired by the beautiful hand beading in the collection.

Cirque Colors Raven is a stunning multichrome with a black base. It shows very green on me, but you can also see maroon and deep blue in certain lighting.

Cirque Colors Pret-a-Pearl is a soft white polish filled with pink iridescent shimmer. I adore this shade! I used two easy coats for full coverage, but there is visible nail line.

One of my favorites from the collection is Cirque Colors Moondust! Moon Dust is a chameleon silver foil made with a superfine sterling silver pigment. It's so perfect for this collection. I used two easy coats here.

Finally we have my absolute favorite polish, Cirque Colors Tulle. This is a beautiful dusty pink-beige creme polish, that was opaque in two coats. It's perfection in a bottle, but that's just my opinion.

These polishes are being sold exclusively at the Met Store, either at the museum or online and are only available for a limited time.

Which polish is your favorite?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Goosebumps

Happy Monday! Or....Boo Monday....if that's how you view it. I'm in Camp #2. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I went to see the Goosebumps movie on Sunday, it was super cute, and it inspired some nail art. Otherwise my house was filled with Sports on the TV. Between my baseball team and the hubs being in the playoffs, plus College and Pro Football (and a husband who is all sports all the time) we never get a break.

I started with a base of Different Dimensions Gnarly 2.0 on my thumb/pinky and Zoya Raven* on all the others. I then used Twinkled T Drip Vinyls  and Raven to create the drips. I freehanded the Goosebumps font with Gnarly 2.0 and a tiny paintbrush.

Gnarly 2.0  makes the perfect slime. I adore the way it looks paired with black. Have you gone to see any Halloween movies yet? Goosebumps is about as scary as I get. I just don't like the Horror genre too much.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
