#StampingSaturday: Flamingos

Happy Saturday y'all! Today I took the hubs on his first ever trip to Ikea so we could get some closet systems for our new place. Living in NYC space is at a premium so everything has to be super organized! Needless to say, hubs was not thrilled with Ikea, and I don't think he wants to go back anytime soon.
Today I've got a really fun look for you, that I've been obsessed over lately. I just do not want to take it off at all. I started with a base of Illyarian Polish Sand Castles. This is a beautiful beige base filled with holographic gold particles. I absolutely adore it. Sand Castles dries very quickly, so I used three thin coats for full coverage.
I've been obsessed with flamingos lately, so I wanted to do them on my nails! They just scream summer to me, can't get enough. I used three different stamps from MoYou Tropical Collection 06 and 16. The pink is China Glaze Pool Party. For the main flamingo on my ring finger I filled in the flamingo with China Glaze Pool Party and the beak is OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-go?
So there it is. My flamingo isn't great as I managed to smear him during the application of my decal, but overall, I'm really happy with this look. Be sure to check out the other stamped looks below and feel free to join in!

Poolside Neon Look

A couple weekends ago, I got to run away to Florida for a hot minute. It was warm and glorious and I never wanted to leave. Of course I had to have an appropriate pool side mani, which you saw a sneak peek at over on Instagram, that is if you follow me. I really wanted to use some of my neon polishes...well...because NEON! I feel in love with this design and used it as my inspiration.
I started off with a two thin coats of China Glaze Plur-ple on all fingers except my ring finger. Can we pause and talk about Plur-ple's formula for a minute? It's superb! Two coats, easy coverage, applies like buttah! On my ring finger I started with a base of Essie Tuck in my Tux, since I needed a neutral base.
I then went in with China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind, Celtic Sun (yellow), Pool Party (pink), Treble Maker (green) and Plur-ple and added dry blushed blobs of color. Finally I used a thin nail art brush and Cirque Colors Memento Mori to add the black accents.

So this weekend I am lucky enough to get out of the city for the weekend. It's a refreshing to be out of the city and to enjoy clean air, beaches, and sunshine. Maybe a little too much sunshine as I totally look like a lobster after my long day.

For my Stamping Saturday look, I started with a base of Polished by KPT's Color Me Purple. This is a beautiful thermal that is a dark royal purple when cold and goes to a very light lavender when warm.
The top picture is cold, middle is transition, and bottom warm. It's a beautiful color. For my stamped look, I stamped BM-205, flowered look, with China Glaze Pool Party, a neon pink.
The design is kind of hard to see, but its fun doodle type flowers. I really enjoyed the combo of the pink over the thermal. It made a fun look that changed based on the temperature of the polish.

You guys know I love #StampingSaturday, and after showing you all last weeks fail, this week I have to show you something awesome. I'm in love with this weeks look.
For the base I started off with FUN Lacquer's Pay Day! which is so awesome that it deserves it's own post (coming soon, I promise!) Pay Day! is an awesome gold foil effect polish. It gives this super shiny reflective look that is amazing. I then stamped over it with China Glaze Pool Party a neon pink creme. Since I figured out that the China Glaze creme neons stamp awesome, it's been a game changer. They apply beautifully! I stamped on a crazy look that is made up of angles from the PUEEN Buffet Collection, Pueen 52.
What do you think of this look? I really love it. The gold foil base is so sparkly it just catches the light and that neon pops on top of it!

I hope everyone has been having an enjoyable week so far. I had a pretty shitastic Tuesday yesterday, so I've got high hopes for Wednesday being better.
Story time: My dad is a real estate agent. Yesterday he needed a house opened up for a client to do a final walk through, but his (my dad's) flight wouldn't get in on time to accommodate this. So I drove 45 mins both ways to the house to unlock it for him, only to get there and find out that it was a combo lock and I didn't need to be there. The not-so-awesome agent could have just told us that and saved me an hour and a half. And then on the way home I got a flat tire. And said multiple curse words. I wasn't a happy camper, but I did feel like a BAMF because I had that tire changed in under 15 minutes and I was on my way again. So anyways, as far as I'm concerned that stupid guy owes me a new tire.
Anyways, on to the nails. I did these for pool day with the girls on Saturday. I've had this idea in the back of my head and I knew I'd seen it before. After checking my Pinterest, I found this pin with this link, but I can't find the original picture. If you know who the original artist was, be sure to let me know so I can credit them properly.
To accomplish this look I painted China Glaze Pool Party on my thumb, pointer, and pinkies. On my middle finger I put down a base of Sally Hansen Ivory Skull and stamped it using Konad Black with a design from plate Mash 45. My ring finger got the bling treatment with China Glaze Glistening Snow.

I am obsessed with neon manicures lately. I am totally in a neon place in life right now. I want every manicure to be bright and in your face. It must be because its Summer. Thats the only explanation I have.
For this look, I started off with a base of my go to white, Sally Hansen's Ivory Skull. On my thumb, pointer, and pinkie I applied Lush Lacquers' Clowning Around. For the dots on my middle and ring finger I used China Glaze Pool Party (pink), Essie Shake Your $$ Maker (green), Spoiled Did I Dye it too Blonde? (yellow), and Studio M Sunset (orange).
What look do you keep repeating this summer?

Pink Studded Triangles

Hi all! Today I'm really excited to show you a look that kind of made my camera freak out a little bit. ;-) KKCenterHK recently sent over some products for me to review and today I'm going to show you the Circular Nail Studs in 2mm Pink. These studs are the perfect size, you can easily wear more than one on a nail and they are a juicy light pink color. Lets take a look at the nails. I've never had the opportunity to use studs on my nails before, so I was very excited to take these on a test run.
For the base of the nails I used Essie Off the Shoulder. Once that was dry, I taped out a big triangle using Scotch Tape and painted it with China Glaze Pool Party, a bright neon pink. After Pool Party dried, I taped off an even smaller triangle and filled it in with Butter London Snog. At the top of each triangle I placed a stud. To place the studs, I dotted on some Seche Vite top coat, placed the studs, waited a few moments, then topped the whole look with more Seche Vite.
Overall, I really like this look. The studs were great. They didn't catch on anything and wore easily. They also put up with a lot of abuse before one finally popped off.

Dreaming of Summer with a Neon Gradient

The other day I showed you some new polish babies. After wearing my Green Tea manicure for a day, I took it off and went to my new neon polishes. Holy crap do I love these colors. They make me happy. I want summer to be here soooo bad. It's been in the 40-50s here and it's mid April. Mother Nature needs to get her freaking act together.
I started off just swatching these to see the colors. I started off with a base of China Glaze White Out as a base for both of these colors. Here you see 3 thin coats. This polish is finicky. The pay off is good, but it is a giant pain in the ass to make look good. It's all streaky and patchy.
After getting a good base of white down, I started off with Studio M's Orange Sunset. This polish is so bright and yummy. It was also incredibly hard to photograph. At first I was worried about this brand since it was new to me, but boy did it pay off.. Orange Sunset applied easily and took one coat over the white. The brush was easy to manipulate. Overall I really like this brand so far.
Next up, I have Studio M Thunderbolt. This neon purple isn't as in your face as Orange Sunset, but I still love it. All the good things I said about the orange polish, apply here too. It is applied over a base of China Glaze White Out.
After swatching these, I decided I wanted to do a fun gradient with them. I added in China Glaze Pool Party a bright neon pink, between Orange Sunset and Thunderbolt. It was the perfect color, it really helped the gradient flow smoothly between the two Studio M colors. It took two "stampings" essentially to get the colors as bright as you see them here.
I topped the gradient with coat of Seche Vite and it smoothed the colors out nicely. I loved the gradient so much. I should have left it alone. Did I? No.
I decided to stamp it up with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Silver Sweep and Bundle Monster plate 316. I actually really like the stamping on it. I think it adds something fun. I did decide to do the inverse stamp on my ring fingers as an accent, and I wish I had just done the same stamp on all 5 fingers. This is one of those times, where not having an accent nail is better. I need to get better at recognizing those moments.
