#31DC2016: Flowers

Flowers are up for today. I'm going to just throw up the details and keep it short 'n' sweet. My base for todays look is Polished for Days Leaf it to Me, a champagne toned holographic and flakie micro glitter polish in a clear base.
I then did some rose thingys (not well) in blue and purple. The blue roses are made up of China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind and China Glaze At Vase Value. The purple roses are made up of China Glaze X-Ta-Sea and China Glaze Dune Our Thing. The leaves are made of China Glaze Gaga for Green (light green) and OPI Jade is the New Black (dark green).
I think this just proves why I don't do freehand flowers ever. See you tomorrow for delicate print.

Rainbow nails threw me for a loop. I tried three different designs before landing on this. One fail got removed immediately, the second made it to finished and photographed but I didn't like it, and finally I managed to get one that I really liked. Funny story, I was struggling with my second design and had Futurama on in the background. One of the deliveries that the characters had to make was past a Rainbow Star (see photo below) and I thought to myself, oh that'd be cool but I've already started. Well guess what...that look didn't work out, so I went with the Rainbow Star look.
I used so many colors for this look, I'll list them down below.
Cirque Colors Doyers (red), Cirque Colors Orange Unnamed Sample, Cirque Colors Counterculture (yellow), OPI Jade is the New Black (green), OPI Blue Chips, OPI Do You Have This Color in Stockholm? (purple), OPI Alpine Snow (white) and Zoya Storm (black base).

Are there any Futurama fans out there? It's one of my favorite background shows, you know, the ones you've seen so much that you can have them on while concentrating on other things but you still know exactly what is happening.

It's another double prompt day and I think you all should be impressed that I managed to combine, once again, #TheLacquerRing and #31DC2015. The prompts included "water marble" (AGAIN, You've got to be Kidding Me!) and "Inspired by a Book."
So I've had this book, The Rainbow Goblins, since I was a kid. It was one of my favorites. Years ago when I first moved out on my own I was sad to find that my original copy was literally falling apart, which tells you how many times I read this thing. Not only is it a fun story (my Hubs disagrees, he thinks it's creepy) but the art is absolutely stunning. General gist of the story is that there are goblins who lasso rainbows and drink their colors, but the flowers foil them and you get some amazing (including water marbled) art.
For this look, I attempted to create the cover with a lasso'd rainbow on two of my fingers. I tried (there was much cursing and restarting) to mimic the water marbles on a few fingers and on my thumb I attempted to paint the Red Goblin.
And there you have it. My Rainbow Goblins nail art. If you are interesting in seeing some of the art from the book, you can do so here. Besides one more #StampingSaturday, this is the end of double prompts for me. Thank goodness. I can't wait till next month when we're back to normal. Tomorrow is inspired by fashion. I guess I'll have to spend my day looking at beautiful clothes. ;-)
I used mostly OPI for this look. The colors are in ROYGBIV My Paprika is Hotter Than Yours, Where Did Suzi's Man-go?, I Just Can't Cope-acabana, Jade is the New Black, Can't Find My Czechbook, Eurso...Euro, Do you Have this Color in Stock-holm?, French Quarter for Your Thoughts (grey). I also used Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Cirque Colors Memento Mori.
