#31DC2016: Watermarble

Ahh water marble, my old enemy we meet again. I once had dreams that we could be friends, but you just can't be nice can you. As you can see Day 20 of the challenge is my least liked day, EVER! Why are watermarbles so hard to do? I've watched all the videos, practiced, tried it all....but I just don't think it is for me. Which is why, I went for the accent nail today. It only took me 23 tries (I'm not kidding, I counted) to get the one nail done well, so I think that is more than enough watermarbling for me.
I used OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts, OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around, and OPI Love.Angle.Music.Baby for this look. Enjoy it while you can. You won't see anything like this until next year from me.

#31DC2015: Inspired By a Song
Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Today we're posting looks that are inspired by a song. I don't think there was any choice for me. My song of the summer has been Sunday Candy by Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment.
This song has been on repeat for me since it came out. It got better when Anna Kendrick sang the hook in an interview (LOVE ME SOME ANNA!). But the best part is that the incredibly talented Donnie Trumpet is my husband's cousin. The whole family is crazy proud of him and he's insanely talented. Not only do I recommend listening to this song if you don't know it, but check out the rest of the stuff he does with Chance.
So not only do I love the song, I love the sets in the music video, which was all done in one shot. How cool is that? I pulled all of my inspiration from the music video. On my thumb I did the Sunday Candy Marquee, next is the Social Experiment logo from their letterman jackets, middle is the candies on the wall, ring is Jamila Woods shirt/necklace/cardigan combo, and my pinky is the purple and white walls in the candy shop.
I used an insane amount of polish and acrylic paint for this look. I'll list them all out below. If you are curious about a color, just ask and I'm happy to help.
Thumb: OPI I Just Can't Cope-a-cabana, OPI A Oui Bit of Red, OPI Alpine Snow, KBShimmer Foiled
Pointer; Acrylic paint, OPI A Oui Bit of Red, OPI Alpine Snow
Middle: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, OPI You're Such a Budapest, OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, OPI I Just Can't Cope-a-cabana, OPI Alpine Snow, China Glaze The Grass is Lime Greener, China Glaze Hanging in the Balance, Maybelline Color Show Lime Accent, Maybelline Color Show Ultra Violet, Acrylic Paint
Ring: OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around, OPI You're Such a Budapest, OPI Alpine Snow, Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen Magenta, Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen Yellow, China Glaze Hanging in the Balance
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Inspired by: Rainbow Swirls

Some of my bloggy girlfriends and I decided to do another inspired by post again. We had so much fun the first time seeing how we all interpreted the inspiration piece differently that we picked another one.
This time around our inspiration post was these rainbow swirl doodles. It posed quite the challenge for me, but I think I did it justice! For my base, I started with OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around. Can we talk about how this is the perfect polish? I love this nude color and need to wear it more.
I then used Sally Hansen I <3 Nail Art pens in Magenta #390, Yellow #320, Turquoise #450, and Orange #330 plus China Glaze The Grass is Lime Greener to draw on the swirls. The Nail Art pens are so great. I need get these in all the colors!!
Be sure to check out how the other ladies interpreted the art below. I love each design!!
Textured Tuesday: A Twist on 1/2 Moons

Hey All! So you might have seen already, but I'm pulling the plug on Textured Tuesdays. It never really took off like I had hoped. It was supposed to be this awesome linkup where anyone who wanted could join in, but really only my good friends joined in. The good news is that while Textured Tuesday is leaving us for now, we are working on something super fun and exciting. Stay tuned!
For the last Textured Tuesday, I decided to do a twist on the half moon look. I started out with a base of OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around. This is the one nude polish I purchased from the OPI Brazil collection. Love love love it!
Next I used some half moon guides and a stencil from Sticky Nails and added some interesting details using OPI Pussy Galore.
What do you think of this look for the last Textured Tuesday look? If you want to join in, be sure to link up below!
Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee
