#StampingSaturday: Hand Models

Today I have two very important women in my life hand modeling on the blog today. You might remember that I mentioned I was spending the week with family. Whenever I visit, I do my moms nails. This time my grandma wanted in on the action and I was more than happy to oblige. First we'll start with my Moms! These photos were taken at the the island in my grandma's kitchen, so I apologise if the color is a little off.

Linda, Lindy, Willard, Aunt Lindy, or Moms are just a few of the names she answers to in our family. She usually lets me do whatever I want when it comes to her nails. We started with a base of OPI First Class Desires a deep vampy purple filled with gorgeous sparkles. I then did a few Christmas Sweater accent nails using Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Winstonia Plate W-120.

Next we have Grams, Gramma, or Gigi as she gets called in our family. Grams wasn't to keen on going out of the box much. She chose the color OPI A Oui Bit of Red. I convinced her to let me stamp on some snowflakes from the same Winstonia plate. Finally I topped it all off with Salon Perfect Champagne Toast for a little extra holiday sparkle.

Those are my guest models for the day. Which look do you like more? I can't wait to see what everyone else came up with. Be sure to check the links below out too!

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet because you should be eating delicious turkey with family. I just wanted to show you my turkey nails and let y'all know that I'm thankful for each and everyone of you that visits my little corner of the internet. I love sharing my hobby with you all, thanks for letting me do that.

This is another on the go mani, so please excuse the photos. Here is my Thanksgiving turkey. The watermarble was supposed to be his feathers, but I just couldn't get it to look like my inspiration.

Colors used are: OPI What Wizardry is This? (liquid sand), OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana (yellow), OPI A Oui Bit of Red, OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-go? (orange), Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Cirque 8 Crazy Nights

So I did this mani while I'm here visiting my grandparents. That's why my pictures look different. I literally went out in the cold and took these up against the garage door because it was the least busy background I can find. It's safe to say that my grandparent's neighbors may believe I'm a little crazy now. :-/

Anywho, onto the mani. This is Cirque Colors 8 Crazy Nights over China Glaze Ride the Waves. 8 Crazy Nights is a glitter topper that is Limited Edition. For every polish bought 20% goes to City Harvest so this polish is a great way to give back and get pretty nails! I layered 8CN over China Glaze Ride the Waves which is a squishy bright jelly polish. It gives such depth to the glitter topper and goes with the colors perfectly. 8CN has a mix of blue and silver glitters in all shapes/sizes.

It's easy to look at this and think "that crazy Amy, she did a jelly sandwich." I swear I didn't, it is just a crazy cool combo.

#TheLacquerRing: Comic Book Nails

Hey y'all! Who is excited for the holiday this week? I'm pretty pumped about delicious food and family time. But it isn't quite Thanksgiving yet. So today #TheLacquerRing is here to show you something fun. As you may remember from earlier this month its my turn to pick. I did teal for my color prompt and for my art prompt I chose Comic Book nails.

I wanted to do a look that shows old school comic book styles with a fun Wonder Woman accent nail. I'll let the look speak for itself. I'll list colors used after the photos. Wonder Woman isn't my favorite nail, but I love the way the others came together.

  • White = OPI Alpine Snow
  • Red = Essie She's Pampered
  • Black = Zoya Willa*
  • Yellow = OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana
  • Nude = Floss Gloss Biscuts
  • Blue = Zoya Rocky
Don't forget to see all the other comic book looks that the other #TLR ladies have put together.

Falling Leaves with Daphine Polish

How's everyone doing lately? I was supposed to come home later this week for the holiday but my grandpa isn't doing so great, so I changed my flight and came home earlier. It's nice to have a few extra days to spend with family. I'm really looking forward to food and family the rest of the week.

Today I have a fun look using two polishes from Daphine Polish. I recently was lucky enough to meet Joanne the maker, since these polishes come from NYC. She is super sweet and I couldn't wait to try these polishes out.

This is The Beast, a dark maroon holographic polish filled with gold sparkles. The holographic effect is subtle in this polish, but I really love it.

I then sponged on Castiel to the tips. It is a glitter polish that has brown, gold, purple, and red glitters in it. I'm in love with this. It looks gorgeous as a glitter topper, but I concentrated it more at the tips for a good contrast between it and The Beast.

The look reminded me of fall, so I decided to paint some fallen leaves on my nails. I used all acrylic paints to paint on the leaves.

Woo! We made it, I know that was a picture heavy post, but those polishes are just so pretty, I had to show you all the pictures. What do you think of the leaves?

#StampingSaturday: Snowy Woods

Alright Ladies (and Gents) we're back for another round of #StampingSaturdays. I love these weekly link-ups. I feel like they really push me when it comes to making designs every week. This weeks look may be one of my favorites. First lets take a look at the base polish though, because damn, it's pretty on its own.

This is Dollish Polish "You Know Nothing Jon Snow" from her Ultimate Fandom Collection. I was lucky enough to meet Dolly in person a few months ago, and I asked her to pick out six "must have" polishes for me. This was one and boy is she right. YKNJS has a winter white base filled with black microglitters, silver/white microflakes, and blue/green glitters. Over all it gives the feeling of a snowy cold night.

Two things inspired me this week when chosing a design. 1. Its been bitterly cold in NYC and the rest of the state has been getting hammered with snow storms. 2. The pretty I already had on my fingers. I used Zoya Willa* to stamp on the bare tree forms from BM-407. I then used China Glaze The Outer Edge to add some piled up snow around the bottom of the tree trunks.

What do you think? Part of me wishes I'd used a matte topcoat on this look, but I didn't think of it in time. I really love the overall snowy effect this look gives off. Don't forget to add your stamped look down below!

Black & White Clouds

Do you ever have an idea that when executed makes you giddy with happiness because it worked out exactly like you wanted? This is one of those looks for me. I was recently whining to my mom about my job and she told me "every cloud has a silver lining." She's right of course and this manicure was born out of that advice.

The black is Zoya Willa*, easily my new favorite black creme polish now. The white is OPI Alpine Snow and the silver lining is ILNP Mega (L). I love the way the rainbows peek out from Mega (L) in between the two cremes. What do you think?

KBShimmer Flannel Surfing

Christy over at KBShimmer hit the nail on the head with this polish. I never thought that wearing a polish would make me want to crawl into jammies, snuggle up, and binge watch movies but Flannel Surfing has done just that. First, can we talk about how adorable that name is? Because it is! Second, look at how goregous this polish is. Flannel Surfing is a dusty light blue crelly base filled with red, white, and blue hexes in multiple sizes. It totally brings to mind flannel jammies.

What do you think?

#Stamping Saturday: The Silver Lining

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet. It's late and I'm tired, but today is my husbands bday (whoop whoop!) so I want to make sure this is done! For everyone's favorite day aka #StampingSaturday I have quite the fun look. For the base, I started with Serum No5 Silver Lining, a beautiful blue grey. It glows in the dark too. I may have scared myself in the middle of the night with glowy fingers to discover this. My accent on my middle and thumb is Love, Angeline Orchestrated Amethyst.

I then stamped on a swirly design with a rose using PUEEN 73 and China Glaze Gothic Lolita. Using a purple polish tied the accent nails and the rest together really well. I'm quite pleased with this final look.

Pretty cool huh? Don't forget to link up your stamped look below. I love when everyone participates!!

KBShimmer Up & Cunning

I think it is safe to say that you all know my favorite color by now. No it isn't purple...it's teal! ;-) If there is ever a polish I'm going to love so hard KBShimmer got it right with Up & Cunning. This teal holographic polish is my jam.  I love love love this! This is two easy coats filled with rainbow goodness. Enjoy!

What did I tell you! It's the bomb dot com and you know I'm right. Just looking at these pictures makes me want to cover everything in this polish. Is that normal?

Illamasqua Melange

I'm going to be mean to you today and show you a polish that isn't available in the States. Sadly, Illamasqua has decided that they will no longer be selling in the US market. Which makes me sad, because this polish is gorgeous with a capital G!

Melange means "a mixture often of incongruous elements." I don't think the elements that went into this polish were incongruous at all. In fact I think they go together perfectly. Melange has a minty teal base filled with golden sparkle. For my swatches I've used 3 coats for perfection.

What do you think? This was my first try of an Illamasqua polish and I'm sad that I didn't try them sooner when they were easy to get ahold of.

#StampingSaturday: Gold Flowers

I feel like I've been slacking lately on getting #StampingSaturday posts up, so this week I made sure I had one ready to show y'all. As you can tell from my last post, I love teal. After pulling all those polishes out, I decided to throw on AEngland St. George for a few days.

After wearing St. George on its own for two days, I stamped on some gold flowers using the MoYou Explorer Plate 03 and Orly Luxe. On two fingers I went with OPI Gaining Mole-mentum as an accent.

Don't forget to add your Stamped mani to the link up below. It's always fun to look at who is participating each week!
