The Fancy Side

ITS THE WEEKEND! This week was long, but thankfully quiet at work. I'm so happy its the weekend. Today, Frosso and Amanda are coming to the city, and we are going to have a delicious amazing brunch, then do some polish shopping, and general shopping, damage. It's going to be a fun day.

Today's look for you starts with a base of LVX Orchid. This is from LVX's Spring collection and is their representation of the Pantone color of the year. Here you'll see 2 coats. Also, I should warn you. There are nubbins ahead. Due to that bad break on my thumb I filed all my nails down, so it didn't look so awkward.





Next I stamped over it with Konad White and MoYou Londons Bridal Collection Plate 06. It has all these awesome lace designs, I actually bought it to play with for my wedding in a few months. I need mani ideas for that people!




What do you think? I love the base color. It turned the white stamping polish a light lavender that ended up being very flattering to the base shade.

I love these overall, but I really want Zoya to put some of these out in BRIGHT colors. Which color is your favorite?

Also, if you've made it this far, thanks for not mentioning my terrible break that happened while I was in the middle of swatching these. It's just a thumb, it will grow. *I hope!*

I then took striping tape and laid down different designs on each nail. I haven't used striping tape in a while and really wanted to have some fun. Some designs were more complicated than others, but overall they worked well together. I then painted on one thick coat of OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts on each nail. The gray was the perfect contrast to the neon, creating a fun peek-a-boo look.



I really enjoyed this look. Which design is your favorite? Mine is the middle and ring fingers.

The ladies and I are back today with another installment of #TheLacquerRing. Today's theme as chosen by the lovely Nicole of Polish Me, Please! is Cherry Blossoms.

For today's mani I started with a base of Polished By KPT's Being in the Pink a gorgeous holographic thermal that goes from pink purple to pink. I then used acrylic paint to create the cherry blossoms.

I showed you all a sneak peek of this polish last Saturday, but it was so fabulous that it deserved its own special post. This is F.U.N Lacquer's Pay Day! It is one of the two polishes in the Luxury Duo set. I wish I had ordered both, after seeing how awesome this one was. :-(

It's important to note that this is not a typical glitter polish. This polish is made of super fine cut flakes that make for this gold stunner of a polish. I've used 3 coats here and it is almost opaque, but in real life you barely see any of the gaps/nail line, it's just beautiful gold polish.

YOU GUYS! I got my computer back, finally. It took forever to reload my stuff, but the good news is I am back in business.

Today I have for you the Essie Too Taboo Neon Collection. This is your warning of a picture heavy post. Before I show you the pictures, I want to talk formulas. All of these polishes are a thick jelly like base which applies very sheer and that take alot of layers to get full opacity.

Serial Shopper, which Essie describes as a "florescent fire coral." 4 coats












Well what do you think? The formula on these was fairly thin, and I'm guessing they could be used for some awesome jelly sandwiches. While I don't think all the polishes in this collection qualify as "neon" they are certainly eye searingly bright.

Which color is you favorite? I'm a fan of I'm Addicted and Too Taboo.
