Swatches: Seche Coral & Zoya Thandie

Last week I showed you this look using Seche Coral and Zoya Thandie. What I forgot to show you was the swatches of each individual color. My bad!

Up first we have Seche Coral.

As I mentioned before, this is a rather unimaginative name, but man, is it spot on with the color. It reads pink, orangey, or red in different lighting but it is a true coral. Love love love this color. And the formula was ah-maze-balls. I had high expectations from Seche and they met every single one.

Next we have Zoya Thandie.

This color is a light orange, leaning towards a bright cantaloupe type color. The formula was a little patchy, but it evened out nicely after three thin coats. I really enjoyed this color. Can't go wrong with a fun orange.

Sorry for any inconsistent posting or replying to comments lately. I'm getting ready for the big move. All our stuff gets packed on the truck tomorrow, so things are crazy around here. If you follow on Facebook, you've seen some of the craziness. We don't leave Kansas till the 13th, so it's weird to have all your stuff leave way before you do.

Which color is your favorite? Coral or Thandie?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Coral Thandie

Today, I have a fun skittle look using two new polishes that I recently got. I used both striping tape and my dotting tool to create this look.

On my thumb, pointer, and pinky fingers I started with a base of Seche Coral. I love Seche Vite, so I was excited to get my fingers on one of their polishes. Love the color, but it was a rather unoriginal name, not that that's important. It is indeed the perfect coral shade.

On my middle and ring fingers I applied a base of Zoya Thandie. from their Stunning Collection. Love this color. It is the absolute perfect soft summery orange color. LOVE!!

I used striping tape on my pointer and ring fingers, dotted on dots on my middle and pinky fingers, then applied a triangle on my thumb.

I love these polishes together. It is such a perfect combo, the colors compliment perfectly.

Do you have a favorite combo of polishes?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Zoya Miranda

Remember on Facebook around the 4th how I told you about a promotion Zoya was having? I finally got my polishes from that sale, including my first ever Pixie Dusts, Miranda and Liberty. I've tried other textured polishes, but I had yet to try the Pixie Dusts.

I decided to wear Miranda first, because I was in love with the raspberry color. Without further ado, here it is.

Overall, I'm in love with this polish. Dry time took longer than with OPI or Julie G's but it didn't faze me. Miranda was also a lot finer, grit wise, than the other two brands.

I can't wait to try out Liberty. And have ya'll see the Fall Collection for this line? My gawd...Carter will be mine.

What are your favorite textured polishes?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Holographic Gradient

So since I got my hands on the Color Club Halo Hues, I haven't been able to leave them alone. I wanted to do a fun gradient with them. You might have seen the super sparkely preview of them on Facebook. I decided to use the blue (Over the Moon) and the purple (Eternal Beauty).

I don't know about you all, but I love this gradient. I couldn't stop staring at my fingers when I was outside. I even dragged the boyfriend out into the sun to stare at it a few times. He wasn't as pumped as I was.

Which colors from the collection should I do as a gradient next?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

I've got an announcement...and it's a big one!

You may or may not know that currently I live in Kansas. Go ahead, make your Dorothy & Toto jokes.   I'll wait.

Everyone finished now? ;-) Well anyways, I've decided to do some nail art, commemorating my home state.

On my thumb and ring finger I have blue and white gingham (for Dorothy's dress), on my pointer/pinky I've done some wheat waving in the wind, and on my ring finger I have Dorothy's ruby pumps. See even I had to acknowledge the Wizard of Oz in my mani. ;-)

So the reason I've done the Kansas nail art, is this. As of last Friday, I finished up my last day at work, and in a little less than three weeks I will be moving to New York City.

No joke people! We are headed to the big city, and there are some exciting things in the works! I'm currently unemployed, granted I'm in day 1, but it's a weird feeling, and the next few weeks are focused on selling my house (please keep your fingers crossed/pray/send good juju, etc), packing up and getting rid of stuff, and enjoying what little time I have left with family/friends before I leave.  To help with the transition, I have eleven lovely ladies who will be guest posting. I'm so excited for you to see what they've come up with.

Have you ever undertaken a cross country move? Any advice?

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Gender Reveal Nails: Nicole's Magical Unicorn is a ...

If you haven't visited Nicole over at Polish Me, Please!, go check her out, asap, she's amazing, seriously. Nicole is preggo and has asked us to help her announce the sex of her baby. The kid was uncooperative through 2 ultrasounds, so while waiting impatiently to find out the sex, we've been referring to the baby as a magical Unicorn. After a third ultrasound, she got the news and the unicorn is officially a

GIRL!!!  WOOOOO HOOOO!! I'm so happy and excited for Nicole & her husband! This baby will forever have crazy polish aunties sending her unicorn dolls and clothes. Congrats!!

To create this look I started with a base of Color Club Cosmic Fate. I then added Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Wool Lite to my thumb and pinky fingers, plus a girly bow on the thumb. I stamped on chevrons in OPI Suzi's Hungary Again using Mash-45 on the pointer. On my middle finger I used NC-02 and Konad White to stamp on the unicorn. Finally on my ring finger, you have dots with Konad White.

Go check out the other lovely ladies who are helping to announce Nicole's wonderful news!

Nicole from Polish Me, Please!
Cynthia from Of Life and Lacquer
Frosso from Lacquer Me Silly
Sibohan from the Love of Nail Art
Amanda from Mae's Beauty
Lesley at Instagram and Twitter

I hope you enjoyed these nails, and please go tell Nicole congrats.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Color Club 2013 Halo Hues Collection

OMG!! I'm so going to photo bomb you all today. If you like my page on Facebook (YOU DON'T?!? Click here to like my page) you've already seen the awesome nail mail I received yesterday. Naturally I couldn't wait to get these beauties on my fingers, so I spent my evening swatching them for you.

I'm aware that the 2013 Color Club Halo Hues came out a while ago. I've admired them from afar, lusted from afar, wished for them, and then finally I gave in and ordered the set. When they came in the mail yesterday I showed them to the BF and said "they give me a polish boner!" He was weirded out to say the least.

Up first is Cosmic Fate. This is a bronzey/orange halo. Here you are seeing 2 coats. Application was smooth, easy, and flawless.

Next we have Beyond. This is a slate black base filled with rainbows. 2 easy coats and the same flawless application.

OH GOD! Eternal Beauty is just that, so freaking beautiful.  The royal purple base on this is amazeballs. 2 easy coats and the same great formula.

If you thought the purple one was awesome, look at Over the Moon. My God! This blue is so rich and the rainbows are packed in there. I almost swooned when I put it on. Again, 2 easy coats, no application issues.

Next we have Miss Bliss, a rich pink. I'm running out of words to describe how pretty these all are. The same easy application here with 2 coats.

Last but not least, I have Kismet. This color was hard to photograph for me. The base is more lime-greeny than you can tell in the pics. The color is so vibrant in real life. 2 coats, great application.

Which color is your favorite? Any must haves? My picks are Over the Moon and Eternal Beauty for must haves, but I LOVE the entire collection.

Enjoy & until next time, Amy Lee

Euro Centrale Skittle

Today, I have a fun skittles look using 4 of the polishes from OPI's recent Euro Centrale collection. It all started because I wanted to use Polka.com the glitter topper, and I wanted colors that matched the glitter. Naturally 3 of the colors from the collection matched perfectly.

On my thumb I have Suzi's Hungary Again, pointer You're Such a Budapest, pinkie Can't Find My Czechbook. On my middle and ring finer I layered the three colors together, then layered Polka.com over the ring finger.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday.

Enjoy & until tomorrow, Amy Lee

Hot Pink Zebra Mani

Today I have a throwback, pre-polish obsession polish to show you. I've had this one for a long time and it has been resurrected with polish thinner, once upon a time.

I tell ya, I am on a neon all the things kick. It's like I can't get enough of bright colors this summer.

This is China Glaze Shocking Pink. I wasn't kidding about this being an old bottle. The logo has completely rubbed off over the years. While I like the color, you all know me. I can't just leave things alone. I proceeded to stamp this sucker up.

I used 3 different stamping images for this. I've got 3 different zebra print images on plates, so I decided to mix and match. I forgot to right down the plate numbers, but if you are interested I can look them up for you. The stamping was done with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep.

What is your favorite color & animal print combo?

Enjoy & until tomorrow, Amy Lee
